sue19v: Well it's a joyce meyer book, i have a few already , I haven't read this book yet , just a few pages, but I've every confidence I'll get something from it, but i do have a concern about it's physical quality, unlike all the other books i have of hers , the cover of this one is scuffed at the edges and corners and doesn't fit over the pages correctly,....it looks used .....it doesn't actually look as if its been read properly, but i would think it has been flicked through quite a few times as it's all quite loose , (something may have struck a chord with someone who picked it up) ...He works that way! .....i hope it helped them..... the content is obviously readable and I'm sure I'll learn a lot Just the same so I'm keeping it .😄

Joyce helped me understand from a biblic point of view how I had the world entangled in my brain, how it was effecting me negatively as a person and how to overcome that with God. Long term customer: This is the true story of Joyce Meyer's emotional deliverance from severe childhood sexual abuse. The details of the abuse are limited, but there is enough here to know that it was a regular occurrence, over many years, and included rape.

At eighteen, Joyce married the first guy that came along to get out of the house, and he was extremely emotionally abusive. That marriage ended in divorce. Shortly thereafter she met Dave Meyer, a Spirit-filled Christian. They married after only a few dates, and Dave quickly realized that Joyce had a problem deep in her soul.

They had children, and went to church every week, but things were still not good at home. Joyce was an angry, bitter and controlling person. Several years later, Joyce became Spirit-filled and felt the call to a deeper walk with God. She was led to in-depth Bible-study, and slowly began to confront her issues in a Biblical manner.

Dragonflyfuzz: I have loved Joyce Meyer for years. I can be thumbing through the television's channels and she will be on, and without exception, she has spoken what I have needed to hear. You can not beat her for her clarity, her forthrightness, integrity, generosity, and absolute devotion to the Word of God and her mission to reach out, in love, to His children. I love it that she strikes the balance - an important concept - between pulling no punches and providing a soft place for us to land. We all need to seek the truth about ourselves, each other, and God - in order to achieve that seemingly elusive "peace which passes all understanding." Honestly, I've tried to read so many "self-help" books - and just couldn't finish them. This one, though, I can't get enough of. I like her directness - no mincing words here - and her obvious passion for and knowledge of the Word. The God that I believe in seeks to reach all his children - regardless of color, creed, ethnicity, all that. We are all His, no matter what we call Him.
