Muscle Shark: What I was surprised was that the shaft was not finished with a clear coat. The shaft was pure wood but the complete assembly was straight as an arrow.If the shaft was finished or cured with a clear coat I would give it 5 stars

Ken: Great stick, hits hard, holds chalk nicely. 14mm shaft feels pretty big in a closed bridge but manageable. Break configuration feels a little short but I think it’s fine. Overall great value since it’s basically two sticks in one. Very solid, sturdy feel

Schilo: I've only used minimally so far, but very satisfied with purchase. Weight distribution is great and 14mm tip expands sweet hit. Technique will expand results but initially it hits hard and with accuracy. I've also had several teammates break with it and raved about feel and results. Joints are quick release I believe and seem well made (wish I could find protectors for them). I consider pricing very reasonable for the results I know will happen. I did purchase Kamui chalk to use after researching the harder tip and those results have been positive as well, just paint that chalk on and watch the action.

Random Dave: Update: After using this for a few months, I've remained very happy with the cue. The question of whether to use a light weight cue (so that you can generate more cue speed during a break) or a heavier cue (so that it has more kinetic energy at impact assuming a given velocity) is certainly a valid question. I can't tell you which route will make you more comfortable, but assuming that you prefer a heavier break cue, then this is a solid choice at a very reasonable price.

I don't hit breaks as fast as many players, so I'm not as hard on this cue as some may be, and thus can't comment as well on this cue's durability. That being said, I haven't noticed any warping, the phenolic tip hasn't shown any signs of premature wear, and the cue plays the same as it did when I bought it. The cue has a predictable and repeatable heavy hit, which is what I'm looking for in a break cue. Based on all of that, I'm sticking with my original 4 stars, and would still recommend this cue to anyone looking for a reasonably priced heavy breaker.
