sue: Five stars as long as you don't hit a nail. I used it to create holes in studs to run electrical romex. Unfortunately I was drilling on outer studs and hit a nail. It was destroyed. Why five stars? because it is not intended for nail/wood environment.
Watch Project Farm review of bits if you are unsure if you will hit a nail and buy a spade that can handle a wood/nail environment.

Russell W. Anderson: I'm building dining room chairs and need to drill holes for the stretchers between the legs. I have an old Forstner from Grizzley, and Freud, as well as I bought this bit new, along with a Famag Bormax. Since I'm making 3/4" holes, and I need a new bit for 1/2" as well, I thought I should compare the new bits to see if the Bormax was worth 2.5x the cost of the Freud.... it's definitely not! Forget the Bormax and go with the Freud! Mind you that I was testing with a hand held 12v Bosch drill instead of a drill press, but the Bormax performed like my old, dull Freud. The new Freud bit definitely outperformed the Bormax!
