Book Bug!: I enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to the rest of series. The narrator is perfect for this is series. The slow. low drawl brings us to cowboys days. I love the sim character. He is quite the uninhibited and knowledgeable man to help get these pilgrims to where they need to go!

Teresa: Entertaining and bits of historical events included. The author has a nice style describing so that your imagination is involved. I look forward to reading more.

Charles Norgaard: I liked this one a lot more than his "Smoke" books. This one was almost believable. Preacher is one hell of a man.

MH.: Too much talking with the characters. He said this, they said that etc. etc. Got on my nerves after a while of struggling to get through all the recycled material pinched from classic western stories. No story apart from the totally predictable churning of yap yap yap. If it was a paperback I would’ve binned it.

Val P. Red Deer Ab Canada: Grew up reading westerns because my dad did and still does. This one was enjoyable and interesting with the history touches. Only wish it had been edited better lots of typos and line duplications.

Willem du Toit: Really well written book, flowing story with enough action without all the profanity so popular today. I read all three books in a short time. Couldn't stop once I started.

Brian O.: If you like reading western novels, then this book will impress you. If you’re a fan of the TV series Wagon Train (1957-1965/284 episodes), then this book will captivate you from beginning to end. Pour yourself a steaming hot cup of coffee, open up the book to chapter one, and start reading to experience an adventure from the early days of this great nation.
