lizejane: Great for beginner, easy to understand, doesn't move too fast. But the ring binder style is nice to be able to open flat, but it is extremely expensive, $30. I'm glad they follow up books are less expensive, but they don't have the ring style.

Monterey Poe: I tried a few different apps and books but this one proved to be the winner. I'm about halfway through and I already feel like I learned a lot in easily digestible lessons. I didn't realize it came with videos when I bought it but it's definitely a bonus. I would definitely recommend and I just pulled it up now because I was looking for the next book in the series to purchase. My only qualm was that I got the Kindle version and I wish I got the physical book so I could write notes in it.

Mensablondie: I found this book very helpful. I am 75 & just wanted to be able to play a few simple songs on the beautiful piano I bought many years ago. The author starts from the very beginning—locating middle C. And gradually adds notes, timing, chords until I was actually playing a song I recognized. The videos that you can access on YouTube are also helpful. If you have no musical background & want to learn to play the piano, I would highly recommend this book. I already bought book 2 for when I finish the first one. I did also order the silicon overlay for my piano that names the keys. I find that helpful in playing. Maybe that is cheating, but I am old & do not have any time to waste memorizing the keys!
