If your new to printing, be sure to educate yourself on operation before ownership. There are other tools you will need in addition to the printer alone, which works phenomenally.

In addition to any printer you're going to need a few things: A fan (resin smells, Phrozen resin not so much), as well as a low light work space to modify post print / pre-cure projects that need working over. Cutting tools (for supports), Alcohol ISO 70%+ but 91% is best ( to remove excess resin pre-cure), An U.V. light around 405-420 nanometers wave length aka black light (to cure), Gloves (resin is NOT skin friendly), Paper Towels (for resin & ISO & messes). Slicer Software to make .ctb files (lychee slicer or others)

All that being said the Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k is a WORK HORSE! It has Very large print bed for a "Small printer" and all the parts are made of high quality plastics and metals. The motors are very quite, it's well ventilated, Fast, Super adjustable, and Most Importantly. It's unbelievably accurate, this 8k printer is MAGIC!

KarenKaren: la recomiendo mucho, voy por el 4to litro de resina y todo super bien.. .. los errores son solo cuando cambio de resina y la tengo que calibrar... nunca le he cambiado la mica....ojo no imprimo cosas mas grande de 6cm ni lleno la plancha de figuras...con figuras tan chicas como las que ocupo si se le notan las "layers" en comparacion con una de 4k pero solo usando la lupa o deplano tomando fotografias con mucho zoom ... la vdd con la figura en la mano se ven iguales.. eso si... el usb tienes que formatearlo llegando... y la resina es casi la misma de la que usan para poner uñas...no es tan toxica como dicen... nomas no te chupes los dedos y con cuidad de no embarrar todo... tmb con alcol del 96 y un poco de agua se limpian super bien las piezas.... si va a ser tu primera impresora de resina creo es una buena opcion.... si ya tienes una fdm.. la vas a querer mas.... si es un poco tedioso estar limpiando, vaciando y llenando el vat ...

Amazon Customer: I have several big name and big pricetag resin printers (Form2, Form3, Sprintray), and want a backup printer but I have to admit the quality of the prints from this machine is just as good as those ones that cost 10-30X more. Software (chitubox) is not bad and fairly simple to use, setup was super simple (dont forget to calibrate the Z axis). All in all a great deal

Skye LunnySkye Lunny: My wife and I were looking into getting in 3D printing. Her for her online business and me for nerdy stuff.

So to start it was well packaged and easy to set up and get calibrated. It came with a plastic scrapper for the vat, a metal scrapper for the built plate, a funnel, gloves, and hex tool. We were excited and immediately got to printing.

Our first couple print jobs failed, but that wasn't necessarily due to the printer. I did some research and updated the firmware for the printer and changed how we were supporting the miniatures. Next print was a success! We were off to the races!

Since then we have done a dozen or so prints, and all were a success. I provided a few pictures of some prints.

One issue is that you have to transfer files from your comp to the printer using a USB drive, and sometimes the printer doesn't recognize a USB is installed at all. You have to take it out and reformat the USB stick to get the printer to recognize it.

The detail is great. Easy to use. Well built machine. Fairly quick too.

Dave M: I have been FDM printing for about 6 years. I generally use my printers for engineering and functional designs.
This is my first resin printer. I chose the Sonic Mini over others primarily for its screen life and speed.

The printer is well constructed. The case is plastic, but all of the motion parts are machined aluminum or steel. It uses a linear rail for excellent stability. It does have some UV leakage from the rear of the unit, but I imagine that is an unavoidable effect of ventilating the interior. It does not appear to affect the prints. The unit is extremely quiet while operating.

Using Siraya Tech resins, this printer is capable of amazing detail and dimensional accuracy. I have printed several threaded pieces, and they assemble flawlessly. Due to the LCD pixelation the detail is not perfect, sort of a satin finish, but still several orders of magnitude better than an FDM printer. The prints it produces are perfectly usable as functional parts.

I am happy this version came with an aluminum vat, as reports are that the original plastic vat was cracking and virtually unusable. I also purchased an angled build plate, so...
