Alex: So many houseplants, particularly tropicals which most are, require well draining soil yet moist soil. Amending my potting soil with this perlite saved many of my plants.
I ordered this as I'm just learning about soil composition for my plants, and once I'd used it all up I stopped by the garden center and found I could get 8 quarts for $5, so the convenience of having it delivered especially if you're not close to a big box store is great but I'd rather spend a few minutes in my car and save some money.
