Veronica: My dogs get skin allergies during the spring. They also roll around in the dirt and their skin always seems dry. I use two pumps per dog in their dinner (aus. Cattle about 40lbs, blue heeler about 55lbs and blk lab around 60lbs) and everyone compliments the sheen on their coat and how healthy they look. Jessica: I got this product for one of my dogs because she has a skin condition and I wanted something that will help with it instead of going to the vet. I've been researching oils and other remedies that would help with her skin irritations. I been putting it in their food everyday for about 2 weeks now. They didn't like it at first but after awhile they grew to love it. Their coats are so shiny and smooth. It's slowly working for her but I will give it another 2 weeks to see if I see any changes. Smell is strong but I can live with it.

deb t: I purchased Zesty's Wild Salmon Oil a little over a year ago for two large dogs and finally used the last drop, even after using it religiously every day. Because OxGord's Wild Salmon Oil is $5 cheaper than Zesty's, I decided to give OxGord a go. Both products have the fresh salmon oil scent and makes me want to eat some salmon, but it is not for human consumption. Here are the differences that I noticed...
Zesty's recommends 4 pumps (1 pump for every 25 lbs of dog) for a 100 lb dog...each pump is about 1 tsp, so 4 tsp/100 lb dog
OxGord recommends 4 tbsp for a 100 lb dog (so 12 tsp/100 lb dog)
Zesty's wants the oil refrigerated after opening (yes, the oil never went rancid when refrigerated)
OxGord makes no mention of refrigeration
Zesty's oil is thicker with a .1% "moisture" content
OxGord's oil is much thinner with a .5% "moisture" content (like it was “watered” down)
NOTE: When most of Zesty's oil were gone, the remaining oil tends to become very thick in the refrigerator...simply run a little bit of water over the lower part of the bottle for 15-30 seconds to take the chill out, and give it a few shakes to pump out the oil...
