You can't tell by the picture I took, but the pants are exactly like the amazon photo. Super soft cottony feel. These are NOT linen, but they look like it :)

Maryjane: Absolutely love these pants for 15 mo old boy. He weighs 28 lbs so got a 2T-3T size. The 18-24 mo would have been too small. This size will last longer and because of the elastic at ankles won't be too long. I purchased these because we live in a wooded area and even though we've tried every type of anti-mosquito spray, wipe, etc., the only solution is long sleeve shirt and pants. This material is incredibly lightweight and no more bites on legs. Highly recommend. NOTE TO MANUFACTURER: Please make long sleeve TShirt in the same fabric. I searched Amazon hoping you might offer it but no luck. Love this fabric so much and having a matching long sleeve Tshirt will solve my mosquito problem. I'm now using regular long sleeve Tshirts but the fabric is heavier and really too hot in summer heat...but no other choice. So please add TShirts in this fabric. Thank you.)

MamaGioiosa: I bought a pair of these for my petite six year old to wear on these warmer summer evenings. I felt so bad that she would come in on several nights with mosquito bites (as she was wearing shorts before). I didn’t think these would work - but they had to be better than shorts (and the price was right!).
First - they are super cute. My daughter loves them! They’re also soft, light and comfortable - they’re not linen, but a nice tight weave cotton.
They’re so cute and comfy according to my daughter - I bought another pair.
Do they help against mosquitos? YES! I noticed she wasn’t coming in with bites on her legs - and was so happy. But the true (and quite unplanned) test happened yesterday.
My kiddo was playing on our lawn watching the honey bees on the oregano flowers. A honey bee, unbeknownst to her, was crawling on the grass where she kneeled on it. She felt a pinch and jumped up. The poor bee had stung her, but the stinger never fully penetrated the pants!
She had a tiny lump and nothing! Those pants prevented the stinger from going through and getting stuck on her knee!
I’m SO stoked! Buying more in other colors. Great purchase!
