The first time was 5 years ago and those actually haven't worn out yet. I just bought these to be prepared for when they do. When it comes to rechargeable phone batteries, it's worthwhile to pay more for the brand name ones. On a per-battery basis, it really isn't that much for the years of use they provide.

AJ: I put these into multiple phones at the same time and all but one has lasted for quite a long time. The one in question doesn't work and didn't last beyond several weeks. Must be a dud, because the others are fine.

JD: I wondered if these would be the real Panasonic and if they would work but these seem to be working fine with my landline phone. There is definitely an improvement from the old ones I replaced since about ten years ago. Talk time is longer when I am on hold for customer service which sometimes takes an hour with some service companies.

NCENTRALPA: I have an older Panasonic phone set and the original batteries had failed after lasting for many years. I was worried I may have to buy a new phone set before I found the these Panasonic batteries. They are working well and holding a good charge.

GK: I’m not big on brand names, but oftentimes, they have that name for a reason. This would be a prime example. I purchased these batteries to replace old batteries for cordless phones. Although I realize I am one of three people in the United States who still have a home phone, that’s another discussion. The point of discussion is, these batteries last quite a while between charges (I have not timed it, but I’m guessing about three days if not more). That’s standby time and not time with regular use, because I don’t use them a lot. So, if I don’t use them a lot, why do I still have a landline? Again, another discussion.
I cannot attest to how long they will last, but these batteries replaced old Panasonic batteries of the same type and they lasted about three years to the best of my recollection. That was with regular use. That’s why I chose Panasonic batteries. I’ve used off-brand batteries, but I had one off-brand which had a couple of batteries in the packs explode – not an exaggeration, they literally exploded. So, with some things you want to go with a name you recognize. This is one of those things.
