Janette Bowler: Husband took this on a 6 night backpacking trek in the Rocky mountains, he had a lot of stuff to carry so this was ideal, small & lightweight. There were no facilities on his trip, he bathed in a creek and this was his only towel and it came back in good shape, launders great, ready for the next expedition.

Mr Consumer: lightweight, highly absorbent and very fast drying; terry towel style texture on one side with flat texture on opposite side; solid border edging; could be a single person beach towel, too.

Weirding: Nothing is perfect and one side is basicly plain where the other has a lot more fluff/thread, but it's great for drying and full enough for comfort. The personal version isn't about comfort but space saving with fast drying... The lux adds the normal comfort to it.

I tried the personal hand towel size and it worked but you'd have to squeeze it out every time to dry. it was long enough to get the hard to reach spots but not good for comfort. They dry easy but still need to hung up. I suggest the normal size or larger.

C. Yang: This is bulkier than Packtowl's 'classic' microfibre towels, but by the same measure it's also much softer and resembles a real cotton towel.

In terms of bulk, this is about 1/3 the bulk of a normal cotton towel, about 2 to 3x thicker than a regular Packtowl.

In terms of feel, while the classic packtowl tends to make you feel like you're towelling yourself with paper towels, the luxe is much closer to feeling like a normal towel. I wouldn't say the effect is perfect- the towel still tends to 'cling' to skin and is pretty thin, but it's much more tolerable. The only real criticism I can give it is that the immediate edges of the towel are inelastic and therefore tend to cut into you as you're toweling yourself off- I had to give it a once-foldover to keep that edge away from my skin.

As far as drying capabilities- I did notice that this towel dries a bit slower than a regular Packtowl. I would still characterize it as a quick dry towel because it's significantly faster than a regular cotton towel. Martin Keisers: Direkt als das Handtuch ankam habe ich es ausprobiert und ich muss sagen, ich war wirklich begeistert. Das Material ist sehr angenehm für die Haut, es gleicht einem normalen Handtuch. Nach diesem kleinen Test, habe ich das Handtuch mit auf Reisen genommen. Eine Rucksacktour durch Süostasien war geplant. Schon beim Packen war klar, dieses Handtuch war eine gute Entscheidung. So klein und leicht, es nimmt kaum Platz weg und lässt genug Platz für andere Dinge. Während der Reise nutzte ich das Handtuch jeden Tag zum Duschen. Auch nach dem Duschen hat das Handtuch kaum etwas gewogen und ich war wirklich erstaunt, wie schnell es immer wieder trocken war.
Ich kann das Handtuch also nur jedem für große aber auch für kleinere Reisen weiterempfehlen.
Man merkt wirklich kaum einen Unterschied zu einem normalen Handtuch und trotzdem nimmt es kaum Platz weg im Rucksack bzw. Koffer und wiegt kaum etwas.
Ich möchte jedenfalls nicht mehr darauf verzichten.

william park: I purchased this towel in the bath size 24" x 54" to replace another synthetic travel towel (Innate towel) that was damaged beyond repair. I primarily use these synthetic towels for use after surfing as well as travelling. The main benefit of using synthetic towels is its ability to dry quickly after use and packability compared to cotton towels we all know and love.
I have been using this towel for a month now and can attest to its ability to soak up water from your body like a cotton towel and not like a chamois like other synthetic towels. It feels great on your skin, is soft, absorbent and will dry quickly in the sun or if left hanging in a room. For instance if you take a shower at night before bed the towel will be usable in the morning and will not feel damp or pick up odors from multiple uses. This is critical for me because when I go in trips I can just take this one towel and I know I can use it for days without it getting funky. I'm actually considering buying a few more and completely getting rid of cotton towels that are more bulky and need more energy to wash and dry more frequently.
