Daisy S: For me, I prefer a brown mustard over a yellow mustard any day of the week because of: Taste, use it in many salad dressing recipes and texture of the mustard. And I have tried MANY, MANY brands in the past, yet have found that I prefer Gulden's because it has a smoother taste, less tart taste and I use it to make my own homemade salad dressings, marinades and also instant sauces.
My recipe for Tahini-Mustard-Onion Sauce (serves one to two) depending on dressing or sauce (I use this and pour it over my Whole Wheat noodles for a healthy alternative to gravy.
This can be used as either a sauce or a salad dressing (I use it for both):
+ 3/4 TABLESPOON TO 1 TABLESPOON Gulden's mustard
+ 1 1/2 to 2 TABLESPOONS Tahini sauce
+ 2 to 3 TABLESPOONS Onion Dressing (ready made) such as a vinegrette one (creamy but less calories than regular creamy type).
+ 2 TABLESPOONS SOY SAUCE
+ 1 TABLESPOON OLIVE OIL or TOASTED SESAME OIL (has more flavor).
Place all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk with a fork or a wire whisk until blended and this thickens.
When I use this as an instant sauce, I pour it over one cup of cooked noodles and blend well....
