Rachel: I'm pale. I think if you naturally have any sort of color, this won't work much or be too noticeable for you.
I've been self-tanning for 15+ years and have always struggled with my face. All lotions I've tried leave my skin streaked, darker pore patches, greasy, I break out, etc.
I bought Eco Face Tan Water and exfoliated the day before I applied it. Washed my face as usual the next night, applied the "water" (you have to shake the bottle a bit to get it to come out- which I like that it doesn't just rush out and flood your hand), then rubbed it on my face and neck. You don't need much, maybe a nickle sized amount, then a few more drops or so. The next morning I looked like I had spent a week in the sun :) I've applied it twice now with face washings in between and the color is fantastic. My skin is clear, no crazy breakouts, no oily residue, I like the smell- doesn't smell like other tanning lotions, plus I like geranium scents. The price is definitely higher than my previous Jergen's brand face tanner....BUT it's nothing like it. No unknown chemicals/ingredients and no breakouts so for me it's absolutely worth the money to not have to wear makeup AND have clear, tanned...

Barbara: I have a very pale skin tone and wanted something to give me a dash of color in the winter months. I don't like having to put on makeup just to run to the store (going without is a surefire way to ensure I'll run into somebody I know). It's not a heavy cream/lotion, so there's less chance of clogging pores. However, the watery consistency makes it hard to know if you're getting it on evenly. One overnight application does give me the touch of color I was looking for, but it seemed uneven. This could well have been poor application on my part, but I thought I was careful to apply as close as possible to the hairline and around my eyes. It does have that self-tanner smell, which I can't stand. However it's not as overpowering as some products I've tried. The way I used it was to do my skincare routine as normal and apply the Eco Tan after about an hour. I used a round cotton pad and applied a little product to the middle. It didn't take much and the liquid has a slight coloring that makes it easier to work with. Ashley F.: I have purchased a few other ECO Tan products and wanted to give this one a try. I have only used it for a few days and so far have been happy with it. I was thinking it might have been more like a moisturizer, but it's literally a liquid that drips out of the bottle and you just rub it on your face. I need to use it more consistently to see actual results, but I've been happy with the other ECO Tan products, and I'm sure this one will not disappoint. I was happy that they packaged the glass bottle in a few layers of bubble wrap so that it would not break. I didn't realize it was a glass bottle when I purchased it. But I love that ECO Tan uses natural ingredients and does not test on animals. That has been my big motivator in purchasing their products. I will try to post an update the product once I've used it more.

ERiz: I get what everyone was saying about the smell, but if you have ever been tanning, (spray or UV) it's completely the same deal, but this doesn't stick with you all day. I applied as most reviewers recommended, a little before bed. After the first morning I could already see a difference. I'm on day 4 and my pale winter skin is now looking freshly sun kissed and feels great. Not orange, not streaky,not oily, just a nice tone up from being indoors most of the winter here in NY. Even though the product mentions it's full of vitamin C, the past 48 hours I've used it in conjunction with an additional vitamin C skin toner and noticed that the smell isn't as strong. Hasn't adversely affected the product in any way. Still leaving my skin glowing. I also am going to start applying it a little earlier in the evening and see if the smell duration in the AM hours is a little less. All in all I'm a fan, will certainly be re-ordering throughout spring/summer, and will probably give other ECO Tan products a shot if they are as effective as this tan water.
