Durch die ausgeklügelte Art der Reinigung (durch drehen) ist diese Katzentoilette sehr einfach zu reinigen ohne großen Aufwand und vor allem berührungslos.

Ich kippe die Toilette einmal Täglich auf den Kopf, klopfe kurz und kippe dann wieder zurück. hierdurch landen alle Geschäfte der Katze in der Auffangmulde. Einfach in die Tonne kippen und fertig. Danach ggf. etwas Katzenstreu nachfüllen damit genug enthalten ist.

Alle 2 Wochen reinige ich das Katzenklo vollständig durch austausch des Streu sowie auswaschen der Schalen.

Absolut Empfehlenswert.

eonxleonxl: Pretty good, sort of "self-cleaning" litter box. The way this box works, is there is a divider that you insert into two pairs of grooves in the bottom of the box. This divider has narrow slats in it that allows the clean litter to go through it but blocks the "clumps" of dirty litter from entering. Once assembled and are ready to clean it, you slowly turn the box until it's upside down. The clean litter slides through the slots in the divider while the clumps of dirty litter roll up the side and drop into the drawer that's slotted into the side. Then you rotate the box back the other way, and tip it a little onto the opposite site so the clean litter flows back out of the slats and back into the litter box cavity. You pull out the drawer and dump the dirty litter into the garbage (or whatever you use to store your dirty litter) and it's ready for your cat to fill up again.

For the most part, this concept works great. I haven't had any problem with the box coming apart when tipping it, as a few other reviewers have mentioned. Cleaning the cat litter box is the only thing worse than cleaning up the cat puke. As cat owners we just have to grin and bear both. This Omega Paw Self-Cleaning litter box makes the former a lot easier (and the latter can be made easier with the wonderful SpotBot--See my review on that for more information).

This is not to say that this involves no work at all, but it certainly has reduced the work for me.

My cat is a staggering 24 pound altered male. When he pees, he pees a lot. I use a brand of litter called Swheat Scoop. Swheat Scoop is a natural litter made from wheat protein. Swheat Scoop is also notoriously sticky. There is not a litter box in existence that Swheat Scoop clumps won't get stuck to. That is the trade off for using a healthier litter (if you are curious do some searching about clay and silica litters, they are unhealthy for you, your cat and the environment).
