L. Cantrell: I went into this with a 'you get what you pay for' mindset and buying a >$200 wetsuit turned out to be so worth it. I went out spearfishing with a buddy today and he had on a different wetsuit than me and I was perfectly warm and he was pretty cold; water was 68 degrees so my face was freezing but everything that was covered by the wetsuit was warm. Only thing I've noticed about it is that it lets a bit of water in through the neck if you move your head too much & the wrists are so tight that blood has a hard time getting back through the arms and starts to pool in my hands - this may be my fault for ordering too small of a wetsuit though. Overall, did its job very well & I'm not upset with having spent so much on it

Steven: I didn't grab the water temp while surfing but did try swimming without the suit and it was straight painful.
This along with some rented boots and I was a fish out there surfing for hours at a time. No issues and was warm.
If your going to be renting a suit for 3-4 days might as well get your own entry level suit. I'm. Hooked on surfing now and will be back and this suit will pay for itself until I upgraded one day

an.amazonian: Great value on this 4/3 wetsuit, paid only $220 CDN regular price buying from Amazon.ca (MSRP is $200 USD and exchange rate currently 1.25).
I followed the sizing chart on O'Neill's website (which I notice is slightly different than the graphic included atm in the Amazon.ca product listing) and the wetsuit fits like a glove, super comfortable. Absolutely no water flushing through the suit. Was on the upper range of S and did not size up.
Glad I spent a little more and got a 4/3 suit, I feel fine in the ~10C water (though most of the time I'm out of the water paddling) but I think a 3/2 would've been a mistake.

Jason L Fairweather: With the pandemic going on and everything closed, my local pool has remained closed, and they don't know if they will open it for summer. I'm an avid swimmer (I swim at least 4 times a week), and I haven't been able to swim for 2 months now. So, I decided it was time to start considering open water as an option for my workouts, but it's only in the 60s where I live, with a smattering of 70'sh degree days lately. The lake is about 48, 50 degrees, depending on how far from shore you go. I wanted to make sure I could stay in the water for upwards of an hour and not suffer hypothermia, but I also wasn't sure I wanted a 7mm or 5mm suit, so I decided to just try this 4/3 suit, especially for the price-point.
I went out for my first swim today. Ambient temp was about 65 degrees. The lake water was 48 / 50 degrees.
This suit was amazing. I ordered a 4 xls because I'm a bigger guy all around and even when I shed weight, my chest is big as are my arms and thighs. The suit fit almost right. I had a little bit of roll in the arms, arm pits, legs, and crotch. Despite that little bit of roll, the suit did it's job perfectly. As I swam, I could feel the heat radiating from my body...

DevilDog G-Funk: Winter is here.... Need a 4/3mm O'Neil Epic
Size: 2XLS (for a 5'11, 215 LBS man)
Great wetsuit, great price, so nice I bought it twice! One for me, one for my son... Great for Cold (sub 50° H2O)... Not sure how much lower than 50° but definitely great for that temperature range. I'm 5'11 and I weigh approx. 215 LBS or so, so I'm not tall, but I'm not small... went with the 2XL(S) size and it is a perfect fit. Couldn't fit any better in my opinion. My son and I tested these suits for a couple of hours just floating around out in Galveston Beach (there was no surf that day, so a good day to just test them out by floating around for a while)... we couldn't feel the cold water at all the suits are GREAT, 5 Star Great! I can already tell I'm going to need some gloves and I just decided on a couple of NP Neoprene Beanies... (hard to find with Prime benefits included)... back to the wetsuit, awesome fit, awesome quality, awesome comfort, and all around awesome value for the money! Would HIGHLY recommend the O'Neil Epic 4/3mm wetsuit for anyone in the south surfing or scuba diving during winter months. Outstanding purchase!

Cape Dory Sailor: XXL was perfect for 230lbs/6ft tall with a big belly/chest. I've never had a 4/3, but have decades of experience using thiner wetsuits and neoprene gear for different activities. Most of my stuff is around 2mm. It's crazy how warm 4mm is - I used this suit in 50-55F water and I couldn't even tell I was in the water.
Only flaw with the product is the neck velcro easily gets stuck inside the suit and is very difficult to get un-stuck once the suit is on. I know what you're thinking: "they all do that." Not like this; the velcro absolutely welds itself deep inside your shoulder, even if you try to be careful about not dragging the flap in. This annoyance is worth it for the price; still a great value.
No fault of the product, but the suit was sent in a box that was literally 6ft long, 3 inches deep, and around 30 inches across. This is obviously absurd, and might be a consideration depending on where you are sending the suit. Also, the suit had clearly been tried on and returned, which is a little gross, but fine with me.
