Ali F.: This may have been a more suitable brush set if my cat was younger but having a rubber covered finger pushed to the back of an adult cats mouth to clean my cats back teeth wasn’t appreciated. If I had know it would have been better to get him to assimilate when he was a kitten I would have done so with the rubber finger brush but given that he’s 2, he won’t entertain the idea of me using that brush (and honestly neither will I since I want to keep my finger). If you have an adult cat who’s finicky about introducing new things I suggest sticking to the toothbrush and bribing your way with greenies or any other treats. The toothpaste was kinda worrying at first given it’s reviews when used on cats but my cat hasn’t minded it. It’s not like he’s actively trying to eat it but it hasn’t had any negative reaction.

TLDR: If your cat is full grown consider just buying the regular toothbrush and toothpaste if you want to save you finger from being but down on. Take it slow and use plenty of treats.

PlantsandPerfume: The PUPPY size is the perfect size for my 15 lb doggie ;). I gave it 4 stars because he doesn't like the toothpaste as much as he likes the other kind I use. But it's not such a bad thing, because he's always tries to lick the other toothpaste off the brush lol! My dog is 10yrs old, and I've used many dog toothbrushes, and have been brushing his teeth since he was a pup. I really like the design of this one, it's easier to use. I do not like the ones that go on your finger, I've always used a toothbrush. A good ole toothbrush works just as well on your dogs teeth as it does yours :). I've always brushed my dogs teeth 3-4 days a week (I give him teeth cleaning bones on the non-brushing days), and he's never had any cavities or mouth issues. I'm a vet tech, so I also scrape his teeth along the gumline once a month. I don't suggest doing this on your own, but I absolutely suggest you have your veterinarian instruct you on how to do this with the proper tool on your dogs next routine visit). You can purchase the tool online. Basically you scrape the plaque from the gumline, but it's very important not to push the plaque upwards, and under the gum. You must scrape downwards. I feel it...

KittyMac: As expected from the ad. Haven't convinced my cats to let me brush their teeth yet so I can't say if this is a better or worse toothbrush than others. They love the finger thing rubbed all over their faces, which is a good first step. I was worried it would have a rubber stink but it is odorless. Maybe I will update this once we get to the toothbrush & paste.
Update: well, after a few more weeks, they still won't let me get more than a couple quick swipes to their teeth. They adore having their faces brushed though! Our cats don't wash each other so I guess the areas they can't lick on themselves (neck, around the eyes, around the ears) crave that scrubby cat-tongue sensation. We all enjoy these new grooming sessions hugely.
The finger cover accessory is very chewy, and we have one cat who nearly needed surgery last year after swallowing a chunk of silicone from a visitor's phone case without being noticed, & getting seriously plugged up. I worry that he will eat this device too if I let him. I can't even use it on him or he just keeps gnawing at it (and not in a mild way like I could sneakily clean his mouth a bit- in a vigorous way that would puncture my finger if...
