Nourish and Soften Your Beard with Detroit Grooming's 2oz Leland Beard Butter

Al: I have heard of this company for awhile. Seen some of their videos on you tube. The CEO Mike seems like a decent and honest dude. I'm leery about almost every thing and everyone. With that said. I ordered the Leland Butter. I like fruity smells, hey what can I say ? I'm a sucker for those scents. Mango and lime is the scent and it smells really good. Not too strong but you definitely will smell it on you. The butter blends in quick and sets in my beard. I tend to have dry and coarse hair like many black men. I was using a balm but the balms are too waxy and they all use some type of wax. Making that crap hard to wash out. Balms are more for hold and styling. I prefer my beard is just soft and manageable. I will definitely buy more products from Detroit Grooming.

mulatto goddess: Ordered this for my husband bcuz although the Corktown smells good in the jar, it begins to smell spoiled on the beard and I could not keep laying next to/breathing that stank lol! Funny tho, my husband likes the Corktown better than this but he's crazy bcuz this smells waaaaay better and has a fresh, clean smell. He had a friend who also has a beard and buys this brand smell it and he thought the same as I did and said he was going to buy some of this Leland too. It works well and leaves the beard soft.

Kris_H_97: This is a great feeling butter! I guess some would argue that it's more of a balm, but for what it's worth it does it's job well. I have a medium beard at about 3-4 inches and with a modest thumbnail scrape from the jar it easily emulsifies in your palms and spreads throughout your beard with ease. On a scale of 1-5 for strength of hold, I'd give this balm/butter at best a 3, and that depends on how much you use. It's far from sticky or pasty, nothing like what I'd imagine a mustache wax to feel like, but it's got some substance to where it helps keep some flyer hairs down. At least it works better than if you had nothing at all! The scent, as with my other experience with Detroit Grooming Co.'s Cherry Tobacco butter, is very straight forward. It seems to lack that scent complexity that makes some beard balms/butters/oils a pleasure to try to figure out and pick apart throughout the life of the scent. Like you have no idea what that smell is, but it's good! This Leland scent is Mango and Lime, and that's exactly what you smell. It teeters back and forth between Mango. Then Lime. Then Mango...etc. Don't get me wrong, I do like the scent and it's nowhere near...

BeetleJesBeetleJes: Small, pricey, but, as others have previously mentioned, it smells great, and works well as a moisturizer/conditioner. As a female, the scent reminds me of something you'd find in a fruity candle. It makes me say, mmm! I actually wish it were stronger after he puts it on, because, that delicious scent does not last, once applied. Which is great if you can't handle strong scents on your face all day, but yeah, I do wish I could smell it on him more. As a whole, he is loving it, and uses it every single day. It's obvious that he prefers this product, over anything else. From my understanding, beard oil is good for the skin, beard butter is good for the beard itself, and wax is for hold. Originally, he was just using beard oil, and a boar hair brush that I got him, but, after all of my research, I now have him using beard soap, beard oil, butter, wax (only on special occasions), a wooden comb, and I've convinced him to take biotin. He has more grooming products than I do, lol. In short, this stuff is great, and definitely worth having in your beard arsenal.

Jaime: This stuff is great. Firstly, I love the smell. I used to use beard oil in the morning along with Cremo beard cream. That worked well, but by the afternoon, my beard would be dry and wiry, so I had to reapply. I decided to try something else, and this Leland beard butter is just what I was looking for.

This is the first beard "butter" I've tried, and I love it. It is much easier to apply than a balm. The smell is strong at first, but fades fast and leaves a very faint smell that lasts all day.

With this stuff my beard is soft all day and even the next morning without having to reapply. I would highly recommend this product. And there are a few different scents offered by Detroit Grooming, so if Mango Lime isn't your thing, maybe try one of the others.
