Sarah: An art teacher suggested these for my daughter (7) and I was pleasantly surprised by how vivid and bright they were. Didn't make a mess. Only cons is if you are looking for precision strokes, these are fairly thick. You aren't going to be able to achieve great detail unless your canvas is big and you are very good with using the edge, my seven year old is not yet. Her pictures were still great though. Great for little hands and experimenting with color and paint without the huge mess that can come with liquid paints.

JulKel: I had never seen or used these paint sticks before and if you teach young children - these are a MUST! They are NO mess! Have great color! And have simple clean up! They are a solid tempra paint in the form of a marker. You twist them up as you use them. I needed them for VBS to make footprints on newsprint. The paint stayed "wet" on the bottom of the shoe, so that they could be pressed onto the paper, but once one the paper, you could drag your finger across the paint and there was no smearing - completely dry! I will definitely be buying more of these for our children's ministries!

RoubaixRoubaix: WOW!! Used for the first time this weekend and I am SO impressed. After watching her brother color with a Melissa & Doug Paint By Numbers kit, my two year old granddaughter used the purple icing on her cupcake to "paint" on her placemat. I immediately went for the Mod Paint Sticks (which were going to be for Easter) and it was as if I had magically changed the universe! They are easy for small hands to hold and manipulate and she only got a bit of red on her hand (which she thought was a boo boo). There was actually very little mess and what did over shoot the paper wiped right up with water and a cloth (granddaughter also). They apply smoothly (thick, like liquid crayon) and dry quickly. She was able to recap tubes but I had to assist in opening them (and as Martha would say "That's a good thing").
This is a product I will certainly purchase again and I highly recommend for all children, young and old!
