Have used a friend's binocs and that is why we ordered them. They seem to stay in focus when passed to another person and also it seems that they don't have to be refocused a lot when another person uses them!
And really like that they are great for closeup viewing. We really think you get a lot of quality for a good price and definitely recommend them!

Love these binoculars! I have a pair or old Fuji marine binoculars that are highly regarded from a optical and build standpoint, but i recently became interested in watching all the wildlife in our yard and using them for that wasn't very enjoyable because each eyepiece has to be focused separately which isn't very practical for that purpose. I didn't want to invest a lot of money and so I purchased these based on the positive reviews I read as they seemed to have lots of bang for the buck. I'm happy to report that these don't disappoint!! The image through these is colorful, contrasty and very sharp... best of all, they're very easy to focus quickly as creatures move around the yard which makes them vey enjoyable to use. Also they allow you to focus on things that are fairly close to you which is nice as well as the more I sit in my yard, the less shy the birds become and sometimes they're quite close! Build quality seems very nice, definitely not built like a tank, but for normal use I think you'd be hard pressed to break them. Buy them, you won't regret it!!

I didn't have lots to spend and feel I got my money's worth. Pros were clear viewing (good for bird watching, I think). Con would be the weight, but I just got a sling holder to take the weight off my neck. And I found a way to use gimp (my granddaughters black lace stuff) and hooked the 2 bottom eye covers because I figured I'd lose them otherwise...now I'm set and it works great. Took it on 2 hour bird walk. Just don't get it if you want something smaller and lighter.

I purchased these for my mother who is an avid hunter and has been for several years now. The Aculon model is an economically priced model that delivers. These binoculars are very clear and focus tremendously well. I chose the 8x42 set so that they wouldn't be very bulky, and are comfortable to either tote in a pack or wear around the neck while stalking. These are perfectly sized for our type of hunting, which is deer and turkey in mostly forested Alabama. With highline right of ways and very broad gas line right of ways running through our property, these do remarkably well even at only 8 power, viewing game and other wildlife at distances of several hundred yards. 42mm is also a sufficient viewing window, and the eyepieces fit comfortably on your eye sockets(which is a biggie for me, as my focus point is very close and most of the time the eyepiece is against my eye socket). I've hunted for over 20 years and have been through trial and error with optics, but Nikon has yet to disappoint me. I strive for a descent priced set of binoculars but I will not settle for losing clarity, comfort, or quality, and this pair fit my bill perfectly. I would recommend this...
