upstate ny: These are a good rawhide for my dogs, chips can be a danger if the dog tries to swallow whole but overall these seem to be ok I have been getting these for over a year, from a different supplier previously and they came in a bag which is easier than the box me to hand out to the dogs from as I have several dogs and give them to them outside, that is why I gave only 4 stars I have been reusing the bags from the previous supplier and they are starting to wear out . There is a good amount in the box and worth the cost

Dawn MaynorDawn Maynor: Soo... not quite sure why Green Cow has so many negative reviews. I've been feeding my dogs this specific brand of rawhide for a good 4 to 5 years with no issues what-so-ever. My local 'Dollar Store' carries these chips in a pack of 3 for $1. When I saw this huge bag on Amazon I figured I had four big dogs (malamutes and a pitbull) so I could definitely use them up. So, of course, I snatched up the bag.

I literally did not realize how HUGE this bag would be. This thing is ginormous! It came in a big box with a few other items and I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this collection of all natural rawhide chips. There's another reviewer who posted a photo of the bag next to a pillow- and yes, it really is as big as a full-size pillow. My product photo shows the bag next to a tennis ball. Green Cow manufactures their products in Brazil (or all of the rawhide products I've purchased anyways). Although Brazil's animal product laws aren't quite as strict as America's, they're definitely better than some other country's (ehem, China), so I do trust that I'm getting a quality product.

T. Lam: Late 2012 Update: They seem to have changed the product. It's now tiny chips that my 50-pounder laughs at, BUT they don't get stuck in his throat anymore. If you quit them for safety reasons, they're worth another try.

Original review: Dog-la loves 'em and just today, he was asking me to order another 5-lbs before he runs out. Which I did, because the price is right w/s&s, he gives me 3 minutes of peace while he chews, and his teeth are pretty clean on a chewie-a-day. And, well, he's got me trained to serve him obediently.

No problems for him, and he's got a bit of a sensitive stomach (he can eat random cat poop no problem, but let 'im swallow the tiniest piece of plastic while eating through a bottle to get to the treats inside, and, bam, massive surgery bill and lifelong intestinal scarring). I appreciate the reviewers sharing their tails of caution, but I've had no problems. I give one with dinner and dog-la noshes on (inhales? magically adsorbs?) some kibble and veggies (30 seconds, max), and then grabs the rawhide and enjoys a relaxing chew. Once in a blue moon, I give him a rawhide unattended (but that's a bad idea with basically ANY chewable, because dogs...
