My Brest Friend Waterproof Nursing Pillow Slipcover - Machine Washable Breastfeeding Cushion Cover

BA: The lactation consultant at my daughter's hospital had one of these covers, which is waterproof and easy to wipe down, and we immediately ordered this one. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the fabric had a odor when it was first opened.

The original My Breast Friend pillow is great for new nursing moms, however the cover that comes with it is not waterproof and has to be washed and hung to dry. This has to be a design flaw because babies are messy. This replacement cover fits perfectly and works well. Just plan on allowing some time for the fabric to air out or be washed and hung to dry.

A.L.: After having milk spilt numerous times on the fabric that originally came with the pillow and needing to wash it, this cover is much better suited for leaky breasts, spit-up and anything else that could soil the pillow. You can wipe it off as opposed to washing the cover often. I used this cover in the hospital and fell in love with it.

Navillus: Had no idea this product existed until my wife and I met with the Lactation Consultant a few days after discharge from the hospital.

She had been trying various holds and positions using the Boppy Pillow we received at the baby shower, with little success.

The Breast Friend was a game changer and probably saved our child from becoming a formula baby.

We bought the pillow with a cloth cover, but if I had it to do again, I would just get the blue clinical waterproof pillow/cover set and have done.

As it was, we bought this cover to replace the cloth one and haven't switched back.

Wipes clean for most 'events' and can even be machine washed when things get out of hand (as they will do, sooner or later).

This thing shouldn't be a secret, so tell the world!

This definitely serves its purpose of keeping the actual pillow clean. I just wish it didn't have the pocket or straps on it since I use it UNDER other covers. As this would not be comfortable to use as an outer layer.

Danielle Atkinson: Expensive for what it is but if you don't have the waterproof cover the foam will absorb any milk or spit up. This fits under the cover that came with the pillow if you shorten the strap all the way. Would give 5 stars if it was more affordable

Swise: I was hesitant about this product based on the reviews about the fabric. I wanted something waterproof so I bought it anyways. I actually didn’t mind the fabric at all and I don’t feel I need to place anything over it to use. Good product would recommend.

Julie: I had purchased the My Brest Friend pillow and it came with a cover however if the baby spat up/ peed / etc both the cover and the foam of the pillow got dirty.
I purchased this slip cover to put over the pillow as a waterproof barrier. It was a great investment as my pillow is in amazing condition and I can easily take off the decorative cover and wash it while having this professional slipcover on my pillow for protection.

KatKat: Like many others here, I did not like the idea of breast milk/spit-up leaking through the original fabric cover that came with the Brest Friend and seeping into the foam. I bought this waterproof slipcover solely for the purpose of it being a liner. I'm happy to say that my fabric cover fits perfectly over top the waterproof cover - buckles and all! (I was worried that I'd have to cut the buckle and elastic pouch off of the waterproof cover to make the fabric one fit over top, but it wasn't necessary!) Also, having this waterproof cover made it WAY EASIER to remove and replace the fabric one. Definitely recommend!

MEW22: Ok, so buying this slipcover basically doubles the price of the pillow. TBH, I was hesitant to hike up the price of a chunk of foam. However, it's worth it to turn what is basically a foam sponge into a functional and lasting breastfeeding support. Here's my experiences with this slipcover so far:
-My LO has had 2 peeing incidents on the pillow. I took the slipcover off to see if it was truly waterproof, and the pillow looks like new! No spilling or leaking. I wiped the slipcover with a disinfectant wipe and was ready to go seconds later... clean up was a breeze!
-MY IBCLC has the same slipcover, obviously for hygienic reasons, so why wouldn't it be good to keep my pillow clean?
-The slipcover is and slippery, which some people may find uncomfortable. I overcome this by putting the fabric slipcover on over my waterproof one. The vinyl not only protects the pillow, but it also makes it easy to take the fabric cover on an off for washing. I put a blanket on the pillow to create a nest for my baby, and the crinkly nature is unnoticeable.

Granted, I haven't had the slipcover for years (yet), but I am anticipating the slipcover helping it last for years. While it almost...

Amy: If you have a My Brest Friend pillow, then you should get this! The cover is vinyl -- no fabric at all, and I can't imagine it would be very comfortable to use without an additional cover on top of it. But it prevents anything from getting through to the actual pillow, and helps the foam keep its shape over the long haul. I use this with the  My Brest Friend Deluxe Pillow, Light Green  and it is a PERFECT (though unfortunately expensive) set-up.

I'm the mother of two kids, and used the My Brest Friend WITHOUT this vinyl cover for a few months with my older child. There's no better support for nursing than the My Brest Friend, but my pillow was pretty gross by the time I had to pitch it. If you've never used a My Brest Friend, it's not really a pillow -- it's a chunk of foam inside a fabric cover. Not particularly durable, not machine washable, and literally a sponge for any liquid it comes in contact with. As much as I tried to keep mine clean, every spit-up, blow-out, etc. seeped through the fabric cover and made its way to the spongey pillow. A terrible system for nursing support.
