Mulch Lock 16001 Concentrate Refill - 1 Pack

B Nelson: I purchased this with some skepticism, but I was willing to give it a try because I was tired of having to continually put my mulch back where it's supposed to be. I have trenches around all of my flower beds and the mulch continually falls down into it. I applied two average/light coats, as recommended. I used a one gallon pump sprayer. I waited an hour between coats to ensure that the first one was fully dried. That was two weeks ago. We've had two serious rainfalls since (one was about a half hour of really heavy downpour), and the mulch is still perfectly in place. One mulched area is at a pretty good slope, so I was certain that it would be the first area to fail. But, it's holding strong. Of course, it's only been two weeks, so I'll update in a couple months. But, at this point, even if it only lasted for two months, I'd buy it again and reapply.

DeniseDenise: See included before & after photos. I use this on black gravel between stepping stones. Without it, the gravel scatters everywhere as people walk over it. I apply 2-3 coats and it works great. It keeps gravel in place, allows me to blow leaves/grass out of gravel while keeping gravel in place, and it makes gravel shine and look darker, like new. I will need to reapply in the future but I don't mind that given how great it works. Will definitely purchase again and again.

Lorne U: I used this in our zeroscape yard to hold the mulch from blowing around when it is windy. I seems to work quite well but does not cover as much area as advertized. Also the Canadian price is quite high. However i think it will be well worth the cost to keep the mulch in place.

JustPeachyJustPeachy: I bought one bottle of MulchLock back in Early May, it is now End of August and I am extremely impressed with this product. Initially my husband and I just wanted something to keep the pebbles from moving (we have 2 little girls that are extremely fond of adding rocks to their collection). After having the MulchLock down for almost 4 months I will say it does what it says it will. The pebbles are still in place and even better - there have only been 1 or 2 weeds popping up every few weeks or so - easy enough to just pull up. I will say that yes it definitely looks and smells like Elmer's glue and the package says it will cover up to 1500 square feet. We used the entire container on 2 areas roughly 9'x10' so a little less than 200 square feet and this may be why the product worked so great for us. I put the product down on a very hot and sunny day and there wasn't any rain for more than 24 hours. I don't know how the product would work if we used it on a larger area though. We are planning on getting some more mulch for our flowerbeds within the month and I'm planning on putting this product down on the fresh mulch but the area is a lot larger so I don't know how...

contuttoilcuore: After reading mixed reviews, we decided to give this product a try. Well, it DID NOT work as described. After mixing the first batch of Mulch Lock in our garden sprayer, we realized all the "glue" had settled and congealed in the bottom of the product container, so all we were spraying on the mulch was white water. Useless. So, we mixed a second batch from a second container and poured it into the garden sprayer. Immediately, the mixture clogged the sprayer and we were forced to use two spray bottles. After nearly two hours of hand spraying the mulch, bottle by bottle, and then waiting the recommended 24 hours for drying time, the mulch was only slightly stuck together. It was just a few days later when we got our first rain, and the glue completely washed away! What a waste of time! You would have to drown the mulch in this glue mixture for it to be effective, and even then, I doubt it would last the 1 year they claim it will.

Mark's Amazon: This stuff works pretty good with a good sprayer. I do have one customer that likes it on his expensive rubber mulch and it does work well but it takes a lot and you need to put down more each year specially if the glue gets broken up from walking through it or handling it during garden care.

I had a lot of trouble with the Mulch-Lock pump sprayers though. The first time I used it it worked well and turned clear as it was supposed to. I suggest using a cheap pump sprayer with the understanding that you might be throwing away after use and storage.

This stuff should be applied and warmer temperatures on new or clean material you would like to treat. Apply one thin coat at a time and let it dry before applying the another. Apply 2-3 coats for best performance.

If you let it freeze it will ruin it and if it sits too long may dry up and coagulate and then it's no good and cold temperatures don't work so well. My customer had me apply his old product in cold temperatures with a cleaned but bad Mulch-Lock pump sprayer and it just didn't work out the second time and it made a mess and never turned clear.
