wolflover: I really like this ankle brace. I am a small adult so finding braces that fit me are hard. I love this brace because I put the straps around my ankle. This is not a slip-on brace. I also like that it has the extra straps to wrap around the brace. I have weak ankles due to malnutrition as a child. Once I tried these braces, I got excited because now my ankles feel really strong and I don't have to worry about falling as much. I don't think they will keep you from twisting an ankle because I can still move my ankles but it definitely makes them feel stronger. The first thing I don't like about them is that they are kind of bulky because of the extra straps. Since I can adjust the straps where I want/need them, I am more confident in my step and don't mind the bulkiness. The second thing I don't like about them is the company only makes them for left feet. However, I have two left ones for me and they work interchangeable so you can use them for your right foot. The last change I would want is for them to cover more of the ball of my foot.
I also got two for my 13 yr old daughter who plays soccer. Her left heel has a very tight tendon that does not allow her to put her heel...

Justmyopinion: I had a bad ankle sprain from losing my footing coming out of the cinema in the dark (ouch).
I bought this support several weeks after the incident, but I could not use it until my swelling went down, and I was able to bear weight on that foot properly, by which time this support was very useful.
I only wore it when I needed to walk short distances. Leaving it on for much longer around the home wasn't entirely comfortable for me because of the metal at the sides of the support pressing against my tender ankle.
There's a lot of room for adjustments, and this support fits either foot. It's quite slim compared to some, so can be worn easily with most footwear. I can recommend it for minor sprains and support. If you have a higher grade sprain like mine, it might pay to wait several weeks before trying to walk in this support. You need to be able to weight bear fully to get the most out of it.

Ross: My 15yr old son plays rugby at a high standard and playing and injuries at this level go hand in hand. He rolled his ankle recently and did a pretty decent job of picking up a sprained ankle. After the normal regime of Ice, Compression and Elevation we wanted to get something that would offer some support and reassurance as he hobbled around school. This was ordered and arrived ridiculously quickly in hassle free packaging. He's a size 9 and this fits perfectly. It's a bit of a squeeze getting his school shoes on, but he manages. He hasn't tried this with his rugby boots, but I don't envisage that being a problem. Initially, I thought this would be complicated putting on. I needn't have worried as there's a handy 'foot shape' to indicate where you place your heel before closing the velcro straps. There's also sewn in stabilizing straps to help prevent an inversion whilst wearing.
I'll update this review when he has an opportunity to try it with his boots (hopefully before the end of the rugby season).
So, at the moment, we're really pleased with this.

Hung M.: Bought it as one of the brace I need after the ankle surgery. Got another Mueller brace which is mainly for the physiotherapy session which I need more support (for my own psychological assurance.... )
This one is mainly for the daily walking and it fits comfortably with the shoes I am wearing (sneakers, dress shoes and winter boots). Easy to put on and off with adequate support.
One thing though - even it's suppose to be one size fit all I found it a little bit too small for me (I am size 11.5) because of the way the side support material is angled in a position, which I found a little awkward when I first put it on. After a week or so when it is a little bit more loose (i should say elastic) then it fits a little better.

Amazon Customer: I recently had a very bad sprain. I was not able to walk for over a month and still limping now. The ankle brace was very helpful and useful. It provided support for my ankle without restricting my whole foot. It is also very easy to put on and take off. Which was very important for me since I take it off when I get to the office and will be sitting for a while. I would take the brace off to let my foot breathe, and put it back on when i need to get up again. The fitting was good. It did not feel too large. I was a bit worry because I wear a size 6 women. The elastic straps that crosses over feels really snug and secure. I did not have to worry about my foot wiggling when I am walking (or limping). Would definitely recommend this to someone who needs ankle support. I have not tried to do any activities with it yet, so I do know know if it will be suitable for things like running, tennis, basketball, badminton, etc.

Robin Fitton: I sprained my ankle but after investigation with the Doctor I was diagnosed with Gout in the ankle joint. It is a form of arthritis and I felt like I needed something to support the ankle during cycling, so I wear one of these.
It does feel positive when on and the straps do a good job of pulling the ankle up into a supported position. I do find that my foot now gets very sweaty during cycling because this support is not breathable. The other downside is the fact that your foot looks big, although you can fit trainers and cycle shoes over it.
So it appears to work and I am comfortable with it on as for the specific medical benefits I am not 100% sure but my ankle is coping on 30mile cycles.

For Real: **NOTE My Comments on Mueller Adj Ankle Stabilizer are from product as purchased December, 2012. Some more recent reviews (Fall 2014) indicate product changes/variances -- not for the better. Please see newer reviews for any newer issues with this item.**
I ordered SEVEN different Ankle Supports and Stabilizers; three were in the Futuro product line. A few of them seemed suitable only for arch support, and not ankle issues, so I gave those to a friend suffering from a Plantar Fasciitis, and at least one of them did help last time I checked. The Futuro Quick Strap "Ankle Support", Adjustable Moderate Support, was so worthless, it didn't help anything; not the ankle and not as an arch support.
One of the three Mueller brand products I ordered [Mueller Adjustable Ankle Stabilizer, Black, One Size] was the only item among all seven different supports I ordered that worked!
