Stibby: Bought this as I was looking for a skillet. Quality is top notch of course. We’ll made and designed. It is smaller than you think but I was ok with it as I was just thinking of cooking for one. You won’t be able to fit 2 burgers or chicken breasts in it but shouldn’t have issues if cooking for 1. Deeper than I thought which makes it better for stews or cooking multiple ingredients at once without having to worry about everything spilling out. Pros: again great quality, easy to clean, easy to carry, handle doesn’t get hot and we’ll balanced. Cons: size. Be nice if just an inch bigger. Would buy again unless cooking for more than 1.

D.S.: viele Pfannen ausprobiert ( die hiesigen ' Billig-Heimer' waren/sind einfach zu klein ) in diese paßt ein wenigstens ein 'richtiges 'Steak hinein ! Die antihaft Beschichtung erübrigt beim trekken gesondert Fett oder Öl mitführen zu müssen, der recht 'schwere ' werkseitige Grill wurde jedoch durch einen GSI Mini Gipper ausgetauscht, somit konnten erneut 44 Gramm eingespart werden; Pfanne mit Gripper, Spatel und einem Mini-Schwamm netto bei 160 Gramm ! ;)

Amazon Customer: Only used it for 2 camping trips so far but much better than other non stick pans I've had. Non stick coating actually works well, it wears off easily on the top edge during transport but satisfied still, light and sturdy, just protect it with cloth or something when you pack it.

EFR: I had been getting bored with the usual prepackaged backpacking meals and it seemed the best way to take the next step was to expand my cookware. After looking up the various pans available, I settled on the MSR Quick Skillet. First use was on a 4 day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks for cooking eggs and hash browns for 2 persons, both of which came out great! This is a small, very light and very packable pan. Made of thin gauged aluminum, it transfers heat quickly--so always use low/med heat to avoid burning food--and always use a little cooking oil to maximize the non-stick properties. The pan handle is very sturdy and conveniently folds or detaches as needed; I find it more stable and predictable than the usual wrap around folding handles or pan clamps. The cooking surface, like most non-stick surfaces, seems delicate and may scratch easily. I used a plastic spatula yet still noticed a few hair-line scratches by day 3. In the skillet I nested other-branded, collapsable silicon bowls and suspect a few grains of sand/dirt got between these surfaces which rubbed during transport. These scratches were very tiny and seem of little consequence but this illustrates a need for...

John Galt: Overall the best combination of weight, size and performance that I could find. I wanted a non-stick fry pan that will be dedicated to our kitchen box used for family car camping. I didn't want to use a full size and weight fry pan from home in order to to save weight and room in the kitchen box. The folding handles on the Flex work perfectly and the light weight didn't make the already jam packed kitchen box much heavier to lug around.

I've been through both a cheap Coleman and a cheap Wal-Mart camping fry pan and they were junk. Those two had a miserable "non-stick" coating that did not work and they were way to thin to prevent scorching. By spending $29.95 I found the MSR Flex to have a very good non-stick coating and the pan was just thick enough if used carefully. We fried potatoes, onions, hash, chorizo and eggs with very good results. The deep sides of the MSR Flex are a good feature and will allow double duty to make soup, sauces etc.

I didn't give the MSR Flex a five star rating because I do not like the couple of plastic pieces incorporated into the handle locking mechanism. Not a problem if one is cooking on a white gas stove like we do. I would question...

Jonathan Bowen: I picked this up for more versatile cooking while keeping my pack weight down. I'm pretty happy with it:
Pros:
- Very light, but not titanium. Titanium isn't a great idea for a skillet because it transfers heat a little too well. You will get serious hot spots. This helps spread the heat a bit better.
- Handle is detachable.
- Deep enough to boil enough water for things like instant potatoes, for one person. You don't have to carry a pot if you want to cut back on weight.
- Non-stick works a treat. Get yourself a silicone scraper or cut the head off a spatula.

Cons:
- Pretty much have to accept that anything this thin and light WILL have hot spots, especially on an alcohol stove where there is central point of heat. I've tried it over an alcohol burner making grilled cheese. As long as you keep rotating it and moving it about, you'll be fine. A move even heat source would be better.
- The handle assembly feels a little flimsy, with some plastic parts. I would be careful working over open flame.
- Non stick means you have to regulate heat more carefully. An uncoated pan can take a lot more heat without damage.

Tobi: Perfekt. Klein. Leicht. Aufsteckbarer Griff. Trotzdem dieser zum Teil aus Plastik besteht, kein verziehen oder passungenauigkeit. Gut zu verstauen. Antihaftbeschichtung ist super. Zwei entrecote s ohne fett Zusatz super geworden. Leicht zu reinigen. Passt super zu Basic msr topfset. Nach Jahren der alutöpfe eine Offenbarung. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

LETxITxBURN: Me and my wife go camping, backpacking, and motorcycle camping. We bring some perishable food with us for the first day or so.. Nothing beats bacon and eggs. We did a lot of looking around and a lot of trial and error I probably got 5-10 sets of cookware in the garage. This one is made of nonstick aluminum and has a fold over talon handle. I’ve used this to cook breakfast (bacon, eggs, etc...) to frying some fresh caught fish to the fat squirrel eating my peanuts.

After many uses I have the Pros and cons.

Pros-- Nice wide base and high walls keep food even and from falling out.
Pros-- balanced and can be left along for short periods of time without falling over due to handle weight
Pros-- Nests perfectly underneath the MSR Quick 2 System and other products.
Pros-- Has durable None stick coating that prevents food from sticking to it. (no butter needed but I prefer butter)"yum"
Pros-- Made of lightweight aluminum so it doesn't weigh much.

Cons-- end of handle close to the skillet gets extremely hot and retains heat longer than the skillet body.
Cons-- Aluminum body is very thin so keep your food moving as you will get hot spots.
