The Minka Aire F516-ORB Downrod Mount Ceiling Fan is the perfect choice for any room. With its three silver/pewter blades, 50-watt light, and oil-rubbed bronze finish, this fan is sure to add a touch of sophistication and style to your home. The Minka Aire brand is known for its quality and reliability, making this ceiling fan one of the best on the market. And with its light kit, you can enjoy both a beautiful fan and a bright light in one.Wanderer: I just had this fan installed. At its highest speed it has the power I would have expected at the lowest speed. It barely sends a breeze. I decided to go for this instead of a Casablanca or other higher end brand because I liked the way it looked. Mistake.

Eric: This is a very attractive fan, it's quiet and well made. We've had it for about 3 years and a ceiling fan is really the answer for us. The three speed remote and reverse works just fine and I don't think we've ever replaced the batteries in the remote. We mounted it using the minimum drop down, the tube extends only about an inch or so, close to the ceiling (8' ceiling) and it's just fine.
We don't really use the lamp. It produces a rather dull low quality of light. The diffuser seems to block most of the light. But that's not what we bought it for. So lose a star for that.
We just felt it was one of the better looking fans out there, but that's really just a subjective call. I would definitely buy again, and may get another one for the bedroom at some point.

Meemee: This is my 2nd Concept I ceiling fan that I bought. I love the first one that I bought for the old house so much that I am buying it again for the guest bedroom in my new house which is a 12x12 room with 11-ft ceiling (I used the 6" rod and it's just perfect). The built-in light lits up the room just fine and I have no issue with the air flow at 3 available settings. A great feature is the 2 available directions (clockwise and counter-clockwise) for hot months versus cold months. The remote control for both the fan and the light is a fantastic convenience and it comes with a bracket that you can mount anywhere you want. I find no flaws in the funtionality of this fan and yes, I love the clean-line looks. The fact that the blades are not bronze as the base does not affect its appearance whatsoever, they closely match and who is going to reach up the ceiling and touch the blades except when cleaning?
The price on Amazon is great, I couldn't find a better price any where else. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. In fact, I also bought a 3rd Minka-Aire, the flush mount Concept II for my master bedroom as well. A guess I am a Minka-Aire FAN, punt intended :-)

Dravid: The best feature about this fan is its looks. It is minimalistic with a clean, stylish, sleek, and modern design. It also has a relatively small footprint. The 100W mini bulb produces adequate light for my 12" by 12" size bedroom. Unlike other fans that require the blades to be screwed on the base unit containing the motor, this fan allows for the blades to just slide into the base unit and lock into place - a great feature that cuts assembly time. I was however slightly disappointed that the color of the blades (with a slightly grayish touch) was not identical to that of the base unit (brown/oiled rubbed bronze). This is not a defect but rather the actual color shade scheme of this particular fan. Even on its highest setting, the amount of airflow (air displaced) is not that impressive and hence I strongly recommend that one go with the 52" inch version of this fan that costs only slightly more than the cost of this 44" model. This fan comes with a 3.5" & 6" down-rod but for my 9" ceiling, I would have preferred if the fan also came with an additional 9" or 12" down-rod. The remote is stylish and works flawlessly but I wish there was more space to snug in the remote-receiver...

K. V. Harris: I purchased 5 of these fans in 2009, and until now they have been working great. Over 2 weeks ago, 2 wall controls and 3 receivers failed perhaps due to a power surge. I contacted the dealer , Hansen Wholesale to purchase the replacement parts after checking that the factory did in fact have the parts. They notified me that since the fans were still under warranty they would provide the parts free of charge. Well, it's been over two weeks and I haven't received the parts. I called back and tried to buy the parts thinking that purchasing them would speed up the order. A testy salesman actually said that ordering and paying for the items would not get me the parts faster than the warranty replacement. Then, he actually hung up the phone when I asked for other options. I have to say that this unresponsive customer care surprises me. I would think any company involved in the selling of a high-end specialty product such as this would take more of an interest in customer satisfaction. And, especially given that the factory is not far from the retailer. The factory however, will not sell or provide parts to the end user, and the dealer is slow. This makes an otherwise good product not so...
