Amanda Bunch: So I ordered this for my dad, who lives near cows in the country, and they get inundated by flies every summer. He's got a large fly swatter collection and lives to kill these invaders.

Well, problem is once my 4 year old and I put it together and started playing with it we're totally keeping it for our house. It's fun. But more importantly, it's pretty damn effective.

It's accurate. If you miss, that's on you. Up your game cuz my 4 year old is pretty good.

It doesn't make bugs go splat, which is an awesome bonus. Not bug guts on the walls.

It killed a wasp. YES! Kill those evil things.

The simple mechanics of it leave little room for failure. Not much on it to break, and it's made of a single solid piece of plastic. It's not cheap or flimsy.

The string makes it so when you strike theres no need to go searching for your ammo. Keep comfy with beer in hand and reload for your next kill.

Plus you never run out, no need to refill, and no batteries to replace.

I can reach higher and more awkward locations than with a traditional swatter. My 5'5" self can even kill them off my ceiling.

milleron: This thing actually works. I found it superior to a traditional flyswatter because I didn't really have to move. I let the buggers come to me and popped them from angles I couldn't manage with the old long-handled swatter.
I deducted one star because it should have fins to keep it from twisting in the air. However, it doesn't have time to twist when traveling the short distance of the supplied tether string. In that range it kills flies quite reliably, but it would be neat and fun to zap 'em from longer distances. It's accurate up to 5-6 feet, but by the time it goes that far, it's moving arse-end-first, so to speak.

John Boyle: I stumbled across this product while shopping for a standard fly swatter and knew I had to have it.

I will however, start by saying it is MUCH harder to use than a normal flyswatter. This of course is just because you have to shoot the fly with this gun, rather than just simply running up to it and swatting it. You also have to be more careful about where you shoot it, because you obviously run the risk of damaging something in your house. If you're looking for an easy way to get rid of your flies, look elsewhere.

However, with that in mid, I love this thing. It has turned the annoying problem of killing a fly into an awesome game. My roommates and I fight over this thing when we see a fly over who gets to sneak up on it and take it down. If it were up to me, we would have a running tally of fly kills by each roommate, but that hasn't taken off yet. Often we have people over and will see our friends walking around with the gun SEARCHING for flies, it's always a good time.

As a fly gun, it's simple and effective. There's a string attached to it, which makes it easy to reload, but can be removed if you would like a bit more fly killing range....
