DGC: I got this to store and carry my Makita track saw. Works fine, seems well made but not terribly impressive. The plastic is hard and noisy and it’s just a big box - I thought the Makita brand saw would fit snuggly or custom in some way. Nope, it just bounces around. Decent tote with zero brand experience.

Peter L: Box can stake on top of one another and allow me to expand my storage if required.
However, if the price can be lower will be better

Christopher park: I decided to go with Makita tool boxes because I only buy their tools so I may be biased. I like these tool boxes because they are simple and not overbuilt. I don’t like tool boxes with a lot of stuff that I have no idea what it’s used for. All the Makita tool boxes are straight forward and simple. The only thing I think could be better is the connections, but I don’t mind them. I don’t know how you would make them better. But I will say I like the simplicity of the clips and the plain boxes it gives a lot of good space.

Man: Fits most makita tools with room to spare.

Marcel.Mtl: I like Makita quality and design, so I bought it ! I don’t regret, but the plastic used is quite brittle and the locking system to close the lid/top is plastic and flimsy.

For the overall structure, they should have used the same plastic from Nanuk or Pelican, i.e. a little bit softer, which would be more resistant to shocks. Or some kind of plastic used in fishing cases like Plano.

I still want to buy other Makita stackable cases, but forget about bringing them to work or travel, they will not survive. Im going to use home only. Good also to cosplay/roleplay, pretending you are the plumbler or electrician. :)

BruceM: I've had the Bosch cases (7 of them) for about 6 years. Never really been happy with them. But i use them anyway. Mine are stored i a work van, and most get moved daily. The locking system is infuriating, they will lock when you don't want them to and will easily break off off. Latches break easily too...........
But this is review about the Makita though.
I have an older one that came with my track saw, and the latches are stiff as mentioned in other posts. But the new latches are no problem. As my Bosch boxes bite the dust, I'll be gettnig more of these IF the tools I carry will fit as they are different sizes. Yes I would recommend them.

GreyMinion: Some reviews on these call them cheap, and while the newest offering from Millwaukee are pretty amazing in build quality they also come in at about 30% more expensive than these and don't work with existing systems like these.

I really like these Makita Cases. I have several, the first one came with my Makita Track Saw, and I loved it, they are actually very sturday, they stack really well, they lock together well, the plastic clasps can be stiff at times and sometimes need a little non-oil based lubrication, you could use sometime like WD40 but, then that attracts dust. But, it really isn't necessary.

Contrary as well to what others have said they do have a spot for a lock on the right side, they are sturdy and strong, they are very functional, have a lot of volume / room. I have been buying additional ones for other tools as they make a great portable toolbox when combined that I can simply grab individual tools and go, they keep tools stowed and organized, and the boxes organize and stack, and store really well in areas with limited space.

I recommend these. They could be cheaper but, for the price they are pretty good.

L CL C: The media could not be loaded.  I bought this case to store my newly purchased Makita Belt Sander (9404 - 4x24”). After verifying the dimensions from online specs I was pleased to find it fits very well both upright or on its side along with extra sand paper rolls. I don’t own the sanding shoe so I can’t comment on whether if would accommodate it as well but judging from its size it looks like it would fit.

Pro:
Lightweight
Relatively Inexpensive
Modular (Stacks w/ Both Small & Med Cases - All cases are the same dimensions except for the height)
4 Locking clips help Secure lid or another case on top
Large Sturdy Carrying Handle
Internal Boxed Corner supports and ribbing aid in stiffening case

Cons:
For just a little over $20 I really can’t find anything to complain about so this is just me being picky but when the latches are not locked down they have a lot of play in them which makes them feel cheap, makes me wonder if they won’t pop off accidentally after 1-2 years or break at the protruding hinge points. However when latched down they are solid and tight with no wiggle room at all. Just to reiterate, the container lid and...

Big Dan: Great! It's sturdy enough, though I can see it cracking when dropped at a weird angle, with a good amount of weight in it, but not enough to worry about it and not for this price.

Made by the same company that makes Festool systainers and it's clips work with them too. However when grouping with my systainers these have to be at the bottom of the stack they won't sit on top of Festool systainers because the base doesn't match to the top of the Festool but the reverse is true.

When latched to the systainers it's not 100% sturdy but it's good enough to stack and move around the garage. If I were to take it in my truck I would stack it separately probably.

Holds my 4" Makita belt sander perfectly plus extra belts etc thrown on top of it. The belt sander reaches and to end(left to right) and fills most of the front to back space as well on it's own. I wouldn't go to the next height down with this for the belt sander even though you might be able to, because the cord is looong on the belt sander and it helps not to have to jam it in.

For the price being a third of the Festool and it matching my Makita belt sander this was the perfect...
