DDSDIVA: I purchased this book to share the importance of black women in history with my children. Each page gives brief biography of black (North-American) women leaders. It may be challenging for some younger children to read on their own. Good quality, hardcover, thick pages. I highly recommend.

Ashley: My son is only a year old, and I've been reading Harrison's books to him as part of his bedtime routine for months. He's too young to really engage with the books, but they're my favorite to read to him. I love knowing that he's getting exposed to a variety of words. I could read newspaper articles, but these stories teach me more about the diversity in the world and are happy and inspiring. I know he hears that in the tone of my voice. Each story is pretty short and I know I can get through 2-3 while he finishes his bottle. Spending 15 minutes of my day alone with my son, reading inspiring stories about interesting people is something I always look forward to. I'm trying to find more books like this series, but these books are so unique. I highly recommend them!
