Mike P.: These pumps hold up very well and for a long time, my last one was 10 years before it rusted the limit switch arm from the moister. If you need to replace your pump I would definitely go with this brand, they seem to last longer than other brands.

JimE: I like the fact that there is a manual button to activate the pump. This is a minor improvement over the older models. I have had this pump for 3 months. I'm a big fan of reliability though. Little Giant would get 5 stars if they made a metal pump, or a pump from thicker plastic. It just seems a pump like this may not last 15 years. If you have an older Little Giant that is 10-15 years old, I'd recommend this one, but I really wish they made it to last longer. I have a plastic top (from a local restaurant), in case the plastic basin cracks and leaks. I'd give it 5 stars if it was built more rugged. On the up side, somewhat quiet operation, and very brief (only about 5 seconds). I guess, I'm saying if anyone gives a damn over at Little Giant, there is room for improvement guys!

Mark Holbrook: Works exactly as you expect it to. Safety switch works and shuts off the AC unit - I tested it. This unit advertised here includes the safety switch, which I think anyone that gets a condensate pump should have. If your pump stops working but your AC keeps going, then you have a bad leak or flood waiting to happen. The quick release for the condensate line is a nice feature, so you don't spill water everywhere if you want to clean the unit. I've found a 1/4 cup of bleach poured into the trap of the condensate line from the AC unit is a good idea every few months, assuming you have an inspection plug.
I have a pair of these in my basement for my HVAC systems in my home. I had a condensate pump that had failed and I replaced it with this one. The other unit that I had didn't have a safety switch, so I kept that as a backup should either of these break and i need a pump in an emergency! Local stores do carry similar units but for a much higher price, because they know they have you if you need it right there and then! I just went without AC in the lower level for a few days!
