With its superior build quality, connectivity, customer support, and design, the LG Nano 8 Series is the perfect choice for your home entertainment needs. SRHadden: The only reason I bought this model was for the 240hz TruMotion, and the price for that is now under $600, where it was hard or impossible to find a high-refresh LED TV for under 800. If you don't care about the refresh rate, you can easily get a great TV for under $300, like a Samsung 6 or 7 series.
Overall this 49" nano 8 seems decent. Using the apple tv 4k. I had to increase the brightness on some of the screen modes, but after that, the brightness and color are very good IMO. It is very colorful and vibrant and very sharp. Coming from 1080p this is a huge improvement. There are lots of dynamic options available, but I don't like the TV trying to decide it's too bright in my room, but it's nice to have a lot of options to play around with.
The TruMotion achieves a very smooth motion you see in all the higher end TVs. This is not an OLED, so it isn't going to produce pure blacks and junk like that. Personally after the honeymoon phase wears off, I never notice any of the shortcomings of the LED panel compared to OLED.
The remote control works well and if you like being able to move the remote around to control a pointer, that works well.
The apple 4k...

Carlos Garcia CCS-400097: I need to correct my review and give it 4 stars.
The one star missing is distributed in 3 reasons:
1) 75% of one star, because I felt poorly treated by LG-US Support, not really willing to work (via chat with me) and telling me that they only offer support to products made in the US and to US customers (funny since I bought it from Amazon US and they deliver it to Venezuela). The agent didn't even respond to that reasoning and the chat session was ended. Same thing happened with Panama based support for Latin America (in whose site I couldn't register my TV because that model is not listed). My recommendation to LG-US (or stores selling LG through the Amazon Market Place), do not sell products online and deliver them to other countries if them you're going to deny those buyers customer support.
2) 20% of one I still think the smart of this TV, make the initial setup difficult --particularly when replacing an already working TV Set in a specific and working setup, staring by the fact there is a very few countries to choose (and you must choose language, country and ZIP in order to proceed with initial setup. Not being able to chose your specific country...

Cautious Consumer: So far I'm impressed by this LG and what it's technology provides. The setup is super easy. I've got a Cat 6 ethernet cable running to it from the router to eliminate lagless internet having to connect via WiFi. It turns on in 2 secs literally! Updates are easy to download either automatically or with permission. The Home screen allows you to customize your most used viewing programs 'n apps automatically or you can manually choose where you want them. The remote is well thought out and you can also control it like a pointer on the screen as well.
Setting up hardware to input into the TV is simple and I thank LG for that. Also settings for everything too are made simple without having to read the manual or other people's tweeks. It's easy to change something if you want to after the initial setup. Like the remote, all the settings are easy with this TV.
Picture-wise I am as impressed at the images viewed in my own home as I am in the store that often uses demo content to show off their TVs. While this is my first 4K TV, it was obvious how much better this is to my older Vizio even though I still appreciate the clarity of my Vizio. And what they say about the Blacks...
