David: There is a small pin relief on the bottom the same one finally failed on my compressor and this one failed not long after hooking it up, the rest of the switch unit looks good, just this small pin which triggers the compressor on and off, without it it's kind of useless, the one on this is not very robust at all.

Bruce Braley: I have a 125 PSI compressor that stopped kicking on when the pressure dropped to the low setting of 95. Had to go down the ladder multiple times to bang it on the pavement so it would kick on while I was re-shingling my garage roof. What a pain!

Bought this and it was delivered the third day. Took a photo of the wiring of the old regulator before removing it so I would know where the power cord and motor wires belonged. I took some time replacing the old one, because I had some leakage at several of the air line pipe threads. I removed the air lines, cleaned the threads, and wrapped them with new Teflon tape. Then I put the regulator on, which took very little time.

I also used the opportunity to upgrade the power cord from 16 AWG to 12 AWG by cutting the plug end of a 30-foot, 12 AWG extention cord off at 10 feet. I put a new plug on the 20-foot piece with the receptacle, so I now have a 20-foot extention cord. I wired the 10-foot piece into the new regulator after crimping fork terminals onto the black, white, and green wires so they would make good contact under the fastening screws. Line, load, and ground screws are clearly labeled on the regulator.

Al in SoCal: MY FIX WORKED GREAT... but I wouldn't recommend doing what I did unless you are familiar with pneumatic and electrical systems (safely issue)..... but it does work well. When I started searching for the OEM replacement pressure switch for my Porter Cable 150psi 6 gal. pancake tank compressor, I saw that while the price was only about $12 on a few sites, it was also on factory back order. So price was a moot point. Having a background in tool manufacturing and repair, I opted to replace the stock "fixed cut-in/cut-out" switch, with a pressure switch that I could adjust, and one that had its own "auto-off" mode switch built-in. (this is quite common on pressure switches). So luckily I found this familiar pressure switch design on Amazon's page; the LF10-1H. This switch is a double-pole, double-throw pneumatically controlled switch. The OEM switch for this compressor is simpler; a "single pole, single throw" type switch that wires "in-series" with the motor-winding. Most important, the pressure cut-in and cut-out points on the new switch are adjustable. While the OEM pressure switch for this Porter Cable compressor was fixed at a cut-in of 125psi and a cut-out at 150psi (a bit scary...
