Claudia Puntoni: It's a very helpful book that helps you to look at everything from another, way more relaxing perspective. I noticed that my overthinking drastically reduced and I live more in the present moment, hence I feel more relaxed and in the present moment.

Kristina Tison: I really enjoyed the book, very informative and practical. It was a very good and well explained intro to CBT and can definitely serve as a great guide for me. Thank you

Lina: Really pleased with this book. It’s been a good few years that I am interested in CBT and I already had some knowledge of it, but I find that this book is very helpful as it is so much better structured and, naturally, clear, than the scattered bits that I have picked up over the years. It certainly helped me to build a more structured understanding of CBT and both premise and philosophy of it. It helps to shake that unfair narrative of CBT being ‘behaviour control’ and helps to understand how and why it actually works. And, most importantly, who’s responsible for it working.
Also, very helpful practical tool as the steps of CBT are nicely broken down which allows you to take the steps on your own without, hopefully, having to splash out on a therapist, when you may not have to. The realisation that you can do it yourself (and that you’re totally normal as very many people struggle with similar things, just to different degree) makes you feel somewhat empowered.
Rekindled my old passion for CBT 😊

Carla Branco: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy – 7 Ways to Freedom from Anxiety, Depression and Intrusive thoughts by Laurence Wallace

This book is a concise and clear set of instructions to make a immediate use of CBT.
Shares the information that the author wants to pass, that is result of his own experience without fantastic descriptions or very personal opinions. Does not include massive or unnecessary information of a academic book, what is great!
Resumes the origins of the CBT from the antique currents of thinking. Frame it in the nowadays, highlighting the resemblances found in most of the religions, psychology and philosophy.
Ends with the explanation of what can be a treatment with very easy guidelines, and adds advice about general lifestyle changes that enable the success of this method.
It is very simple and readable that can be a tool used as self-help or by professionals of different areas like healers and counselors, carers, teachers and so.
Following already some advice myself. As acupuncturist can see great use of this to pass some tips to my patients.
Highly recommendable.

jasmine matthews: This is the second CBT book I have purchased in the past couple of years but I am finding this one much more manageable so far. It describes our toxic mental processes in psychological terms but in an easy-to-understand format, prompting people to self-analyse independently. I'm about halfway through so far and feel that it will be very useful in this difficult time fore everyone. It's a text-based book rather than worksheet-based, which works best for me. I think information like this could be a help to anyone, even if you see yourself as generally mentally healthy.

jessica smith: I will start off by saying that in this review I am not going to go into detail of what the cognitive behavioral theory in this book is or what the seven steps are. since that would take a very long time to do so, this review is just going to be a basic overview of the things I like about this book and the things I did not.

First I will say that I did enjoy this book, which I will be perfectly honest in saying that when I first got the book I was skeptical, I figure it would be a bunch of flowery languages disguising information most people already know, but I will say I was pleasantly surprised that this was actually very useful and useable information. The author did a fantastic job of breaking down, something as large and overwhelming as, the cognitive behavioral theory into seven easily understandable and usable steps. By doing so it makes the theory repeatable, which helps it become a habit and of course things that are habits help to change the way a person thinks and views situations and their thoughts on those situations. I also really enjoyed how the author added factual information, it shows that this theory is based on facts and that it has been thoroughly...

Amanda Dawn: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an introduction to the central premise of cognitive behavior therapy (one of the most widely used approached by mental health care practitioners today) to help those in a therapy program or who are looking for a way to address some of their issues using this approach. It is written in an easy to understand manner and gives a step by step process on how to select a problem to work on and how to improve upon the problem in question. The book is written in a seven step approach to addressing problems dealing with anxiety and depression in particular. Also included in this work are several worksheets to assist in working through the steps that are given in the book.
The approach of cognitive behavioral therapy is very clearly explained in this book and was perhaps one of the best and easiest to understand volumes I have read about this therapy approach and how it works. The steps it gives are overall easy to follow and clear, becoming a little harder to follow on your own, at least to me, starting at step four when I personally feel a therapist would be more qualified to assist a person than the book. The author discussed something new to me and that...
