Erin McCarthy: TWO BAGS - great rice, but price is very high for 2 bags. Amazon, the seller, someone needs to fix that this is clearly advertised as 4 bags. The rice is delicious, filling, and cooks beautifully on the Zojirushi rice cooker GABA setting.

KMH: My husband has never really liked brown rice until he tried this brand. Now he asks me to make it all the time. You can read all about the health benefits on the package, but I wanted to let you know that it also tastes so good too!!
It cooks very well in an Instant Pot. I use the IP measuring cup to measure the rice, and then I use a regular glass measuring cup for the water. (ex: 3 cups of rice + 3 1/4 to 3 1/3 cups of water. It depends on how firm you like your rice.) I always just choose the "Rice" setting, with the steam release shut, and it turns out perfectly every single time.
I've also made it in my Zojirushi rice cooker, using the water line marks on the inner pan for measurement, and it's turned out great there too. We just prefer the texture when cooked in the Instant Pot.
Important: You need to rinse and pick over the rice before cooking though. One or two times I've found a tiny rock and/or (what I hope are) tiny clumps of dirt. I've noticed this in other types of rice I've gotten before, so this isn't unusual.

Kort: I concur with other reviewers. This is pretty much the best brown rice I've ever had the pleasure to make at home. My family doesn't want anything else except for the occasion wild rice, and forget about plain white rice going forward. Koshihikari Premium Sprouted Brown Gaba Rice is easy to prepare in my rice cooker and flavorful, with a good "snappy" texture. Un-rinsed, it can be a bit "sticky", but for my dishes I like a rice that holds together. It would even work well for sushi I think. The health benefits of both brown GABA and sprouted rice are abundant on the web, so I won't go into them here. I'll just say that I feel good after eating Koshihikari rice and everyone I serve it to loves it. It is worth paying a little more when you get so much!

Lerin Keeliey O'Hara: Wonderfully flavorful rice. Nary a hint of rancid rice bran oil as in other brown rices. Cooks up wonderfully quick. requires more water than instructions on bag indicate in a generic rice cooker. Soaking time of 30 minutes is a breeze. Cooking time is a bit longer than bag instructions indicate. Please use soaking water to cook rice in. Don't rinse it out or pour it out, just measure out 2 cups soak water for 1 cup of dry rice. You may have to vary water amount as per your method of cooking and climate.
This is a great all around brown rice with more nutrients available for absorption because rice is pre germinated. The whole GABA thing,, well honestly,, there would have to be a lot more GABA in the rice than the stated content, to be physiologically effective. Then, there is the whole blood/brain barrier thing. I am not sure that GABA in rice would even be utilized by the brain. In any case, the rice is yummy and nutritious and is now my new favorite.
