Kenmore 20362 3.8 cu. ft. Top-Loading Washer with Stainless Steel Wash Basket

Ms. TiaMs. Tia: After several attempts to contact seller, I have no choice but to leave a review. I purchased this Kenmore Washing Machine and 1/4 cup of water poured out of the water drain at the bottom when getting it out of the box. A small plastic piece fell out as well. I am not sure what it goes to and hope it isn’t a sign of something internal cracked or weak with use. I am taking my chances and did not want to return for a refund. An exchange would be preferred, but it looks like I will cross my fingers to get my money’s worth out of this washer. Previously I had a Kenmore 400 which they do not make anymore- this washer was a ding and lasted 13 years without one single problem until the timer went out - Kenmore has proven it is a great product- so I hope someone can see this and respond.

Sylvia Wilkerson: The value I paid for this washer was fantastic for me I want to say this is one great washer I've had on before could not find one until I found this one anybody's looking for one that'll last for years this is it it washes clothes clean no dingy smell no gingy look to the clothing I am happy with this I wanted to tell the sellers that I am so glad they had it and I wished I'd have found it earlier in my life I installed it myself it was easy it uses great and the performance is fantastic anyone looking for a great washing machine this would be the one the value for it fantastic it works fabulous and thanks again for having it.

Christopher C. HappChristopher C. Happ: Thankfully, before I hooked it up and ran it. I read the instructions and watched a YouTube video on the brand. Both made it clear that due to the architecture of the machine it would sound different than other washers. They were right! Had I not done complete research before firing it up, I would have panicked because some of the sounds were horrendous , reminiscent of a transmission grinding to a halt, or the sound of sawing wood with a hand saw! I only noticed it during the beginning of the maiden run because it was peculiar. I found that due to the design, the agitator makes slow, small incremental moves both ways as it adds water at different times during a cycle depending upon what it senses, as far as water level and balance.
After the initial shock ,now that we know what to expect , its hardly noticeable. The full operating sound level is very low. We are in love with it. I was concerned because it was six inches taller than our old 1990s washer and I was concerned about my wife having difficulty reaching over the edge and into the bottom of the basket. She reports no problem and the lid clears the shelf above the washer. Happily she reports almost no difference but was...

John Ward: Super quiet and LARGE.
This washing machine is large and handles large loads. It is a rebadged maytag currently offered for HUNDREDS more elsewhere. I dont know about longevity but will keep all posted if problems pop up.Keep in mind that these newer H.E. washers have a learning curve and reading the manual can help out with that . you have to load the washer a little different and I am very happy with it in this short time. AMAZON really came through with quick delivery and setup and made sure I was taken care of when some damage was noted by one of the drivers. This product is reported to be AMERICAN MADE.
EDIT...3/15/18 THE GLASS LID MADE A NOISE LIKE PRESSURE RELEASING AND SHATTERED SHARDS OF GLASS ALL OVER LAUNDRY ROOM . INCIDENT WITNESSED OR I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT GOT SMASHED OR SAT ON BY MY CHILD. APPARENTLY AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH TENSION ON LID. CLOTHES IN WASHER WERE RUINED. GLASS E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E!!!! ARGGH!

8 Handicapper: I usually don't get too excited about appliances unless they're kitchen gadgets but I'm pretty stoked about the washer and dryer.
Looks can definitely be deceiving. This washer looks slim and trim but open the lid and it's HUGE! Like Bigly! It's so deep that I sometimes have to stand on my tip toes to reach the clothes at the bottom. I can wash everything in my home in this machine - large loads, comforters, even body pillows. Because it's so large I spend less time on laundry since I don't have to split loads in two now. It actually cleans well. It's not very loud either. My other machine sounded like a jet on the spin cycle and is have to wash sine loads twice.

The washer is super simple to operate. There's a display that tells you how much time remains, and each cycle is easily identified by a light. I especially like that I can preset it to rinse twice and even fill the tub higher if needed.
I have been using the washer and dryer for several weeks and am very pleased.

On a related note. The haul away option is great. You still get the same service you would receive if you had purchased in-store. The delivery team is professional and knowledgeable as well
