Bethany: It has never caused a skin reaction. The lotion has been gentle and helpful in making skin stay moisturized. It helped heal up some troublesome rough spots from crawling, making the skin is super smooth and healthy like the rest. That said, it should be known that sleepy time lotions should not be applied before going outside on a hot day, because this type of lotion (like many) works to create a protective barrier that locks natural moisture in longer, and that same helpful barrier can lock in heat when outdoors, causing the skin to burn easier. This applies to using other options on adults too. It always depends on the type of lotion and how it functions. This one is not for outdoors m. This one is for bedtime. The scent is gentle and pleasant, lavender. I didn't use it on her face, so I can't say how that would go, because faces often require specific creams made for it, but putting it on her body (and dabbing a tad on the collar of her pajama top for her to smell) seemed to help sooth her for sleep.
