kirsten springer: I love the book. The way it was delivered was awful, this was a brand new book but they stuffed it in my mailbox and now it is all bent and I am very dissappointed in it's condition.
It will be a good story for our papermaking project tomorrow about reducing, reusing and recycling.

Whitneyw: I work for a Water Conservation District in Texas. As part of my job, I frequently get asked to go into the schools and work with students to help them understand our water resources as well as how to conserve and protect them. I usually try to incorporate the water cycle and why it is important and give several ways to conserve our resources. This book is awesome. It is fun and kids really enjoy it. I use this book with I am talking with 3-8 year olds.

Marie: Advertised as nearly new, this book has clearly been used a fair bit, with bent pages and a Nursery School's stamp inside the cover. My 5-yr-old did read the whole book on her own and learnt that you can make clothes from recycled plastic.

M. Goldbach: I wasn't too thrilled that neighbor Kristy only started saving water because it was mandated. However, it is a great book to discuss why we should ALWAYS conserve water. I most recently read this to my kinder class on a rainy day! We wondered if it would be ok to waste water on rainy days as well, we shared ways we save water in our home, we now want our own water barrel for our school, and we loved the illustrations.
Unlike a previous reviewer I don't believe that we should teach children to conserve because it costs money. It's like saying rich folks don't need to worry about the environment, and money is an abstract concept at the this age anyway. I understand that teaching the water cycle and this at the same time may be confusing. However, if we continue to waste and pollute water it WILL run out one day. The documentary Tapped is a great resource for adults wanting to learn more about water.
