Justin: I appreciated the books ability to cover the full range of emotions a black man will experience throughout the course of his life. Many parts in the book left me frozen at how identical some points were to my own life. My personal battles with emotional freedom, being viewed as “soft” for expressing my emotions, controlling my anger/how I react to certain situations, etc… An all around amazing book from a man with a compelling story. I certainly look forward to delving more into his work and how he’s shaping the next generation of black men.

Jermaine B.: This book is an absolute gem. After watching the cave of adullam and almost all of Jason Wilson's interviews, I made the decision to buy this book. This autobiography is poetic, speaking to the depths of what I can relate to. I feel the deepest connection to his story especially since it sounds so familiar, Jason's transparency is amazing, and his writing style isn't stale but so captivating. I have not put it down yet, and I'm eager to keep reading. This book is a connection for the healing that I've been searching for. Thank you Mr. Jason Wilson 🙏🏾 #shalom

tair a.: Disappointed by this book, I thought I would understand the causes and the consequences for a man to not cry but all I found was a man looking for and meeting the christ for 200 pages. Off topic...

David: His story, the conviction of God becoming relationship with him. The relationship with his dad, one of disappointment to reconciliation. Deep down I desire these things more than a life of pain and anguish. Great book. Thank you for sharing your story Mr Wilson.

RobbRobb: It finally came! I am looking forward to reading this book. I to suffer from pain and heartaches I’ve encountered in my life time and most times feel as though I don’t have anyone to talk to. I thought about therapy but strayed away because I didn’t want to be judged the wrong way. For a couple of weeks I’ve been alone and had time to think about the way I’ve been living and treating myself. My father in-law and I had a conversation that made me look at my life different. I normally don’t be on social media, but my wife showed me some feeds and people she followed a while back that sparked Interest to me these past couple of weeks. I came across a video of a sensei by the name of Mr Jason Wilson who posted a video of a young man punching a block with his left hand and then began to cry because he was lacking self confidence, letting the pain take over what he has already accomplished with his right fist. Mr. Wilson gave the young man comfort in knowing what his capabilities were and let him know that it was ok to cry and get that off his chest. He didn’t allow the young man to give up on himself. Shortly later he then accomplished his goal of breaking that board with...

Stanislaus T Muradzikwa: A must read book! If your like me and grew up without your father, this book will help you understand alot more about yourself and what has been going on as you was growing up.
Thank you Mr Jason Wilson for being the man you are and writing this book. I resonate with your words so much, not only did I get so much confirmations, but am also inspired to be a good man of God and fight the good fight.
I truly believe every fatherless son needs to read this book, as we are all crying out loud for the same help. ..#GraceLife

Julie Godwin: I looooooved this book. I did not expect it to be as autobiographical as it was. It contains a great deal of wisdom and guidance TO men FROM a man. The black male experience doesn't have enough of a voice in our society other than what contemporary music and the media says about it so I believe that books like this and a voice like this have never been more important. I would love to see this book in the hands of more men. It speaks at length about how our society has taught men what "manliness" or male "power" looks like and that it is one devoid of vulnerability and tears. It makes the very important point that if a man doesn't learn how to cry, the bottling up of those emotions of helplessness, grief and sadness can explode into violence committed against themselves and others. I love how this book holds space not only for young men but men of all ages to touch the innocence within themselves in a safe and powerful way. I hope this book makes its way into the hands of many men to come.

Cornell Thomas: We need to see the struggles of other men, and their triumphs, to see our own possibilities. This but ok provides a pathway for that to occur.
