Comments

Rocket: It really engages my dog, very noisy on hard floors, chips easily.
I secured the connection with electrical tape.

Michelle StC: The media could not be loaded.  I purchased the 3 inch version and my dog loves it. Need to cut treats up small otherwise it would be super challenging for the treats to be dispensed. It’s a little tricky to put together but that’s the nature of having multiple layers.

K. Okumura: Doesnt hold much kibble and I use cat kibble which is small to begin with. My cars enjoy this which has the right difficulty but likely too small for dog kibble

Paws630: - Difficult to put together.
- Treats / kibble don't fall out easily, my dogs tried and tried but now don't touch it.
- I removed all the barriers inside and it was just a big open ball and still I had to shake it a bunch to get any of the tiny kibbles to fall out.

This is now sitting as junk in a corner, wish I'd returned it. Too expensive for what it was.

Gigi: I have purchased 7 of these. (More on that, later.) My dog LOVES them. The original design (top = 1 piece; bottom = 1 piece) was sturdier and easier to use. The newer design (top splits into two pieces) is awkward to use, as the split top falls apart easily and the rim with the screw threads tends to crack. I always Duck tape the two pieces together as soon as I open the package. (I suspect the newer design was adopted for safety reasons. I just can't align the top "halves" easily and opt for fixing them together with tape.)

Do NOT buy this if you don't want to hear kibbles loudly rolling around in the plastic ball for 10 minutes a pop, or frequent impacts with walls, furniture, appliances, etc., because an active dog will richochet this thing like a pinball. You will find kibble under everything, and if you have furniture that's raised more than the diameter of the ball, you will be retrieving the ball all the time, or risk your dog tearing apart whatever the ball rolled under. (I bought clear "toy guards" and secured them to the bottom surface of the one sofa table my dog kept rolling it under.)

Having said all of the negatives, I keep buying them about every 3-4...

Brandon: The media could not be loaded.  ***UPDATE 10/30/2023: We've had to stop using this now since she has grown and is able to fit the feeder in her mouth and start to chew it. I'd still highly recommend this for young puppies or very small doggos, but once they get big enough to hold it or can chew it I'd stop use unless you are very diligently watching them. ***

I rarely write reviews (this could be the first one) but I had to give a 5 star rating for this!

TLDR: If you are struggling to tire out your puppy consistently or need a slow feeder, give this a try!

Our 3 month old Rottweiler puppy has been quite a handful when it comes to tiring her out and getting her to nap/sleep. Since she is too young to take on walks due to not being fully vaccinated yet and it being too hot during the day to play much outside in the yard, we were struggling to get her exercised.

This toy might just be the perfect solution (at least that we’ve found)! She has been getting practically all of her meals from this (sometimes she’ll eat from the KONG Wobbler as well, which is also a fantastic product).

The large 4” option holds around a cup of puppy...

B.B.: Poorly designed ; there's no reason for top half to be made split into 2 pieces that easily come apart from each other ; should have been made as a half sphere just like bottom half which screws together with top half.

Received order with 3 new "IQ Activity" type of dog toys yesterday & was excited for my dog to try this one out first, since she has had a similar type ball that she liked. Within 10 to 15 minutes of her playing with this ball it had come apart because of the poorly designed top piece that separates in half so easily. So, then my dog was able to remove the the inner piece between the top & bottom, chew on it, & all the kibble spilled out.

I gave it 2 stars because the idea is good of having a center piece with holes that don't line up with outside hole of ball, so dog has to roll ball around/play with it to get kibble to come out. But, the construction of that top half ruins it.

3 DAYS LATER :

I'm revising to 3 stars. After trying it out again, I realized that when you screw the bottom half onto the top you have to make sure you turn it VERY hard - even after you think it is screwed on well if you try turning more extra hard...

Shelley B: this is a great toy for dogs however it is so loud on hardwood floors not sure it is good for the inside, the durability is great just very loud

Kristyn Trickey: Overall fun toy! I had to entice my border collie/newfie puppy to be interested in it, but once she is able to get treats out she will play with it on her own. Personally, I took out the inserts as they made it too challenging and difficult to fit the food inside, but it’s nice to have the option.
