L0RD_BUG: If you are a horse rider looking for a short piece that won't get in the eay, this might work for you, but if you are looking for a play toy, look elsewhere.

This item is so rigid that the leather capping it at best keeps the tip from digging in. It really doesn't modify the sensation at all. This just feels like being struck by a cane. There's no bend to give this a "whip" action, and the tip isn't stiff enough to provide that smack most people want from a riding crop. IT IS ONLY 18 INCHES HEAD TO TIP, and it's shaft is 6 or 7 mm in diameter (thick stuff).

It is well made, though, compared to the overpriced bdsm toys I'm trying to sieve through on Amazon. There's no play in it, it seems to be sewn together well, and I might even try cutting the leather cap off to have a short cane out of it.

So the actual product....good construction, feels durable in your hand, length is good, rigidity is nice with just enough flex and the tab of leather on the "receiving end" is large enough and gives a satisfying "crack". The leather end is also small enough to get into tight quarters too. Very good value for the money compared to others at much higher prices. Try something new today.

kyle burke: I bought this to use on my girlfriend and it works very well. I like it because it doesn't seem to leave marks on her which has been a problem with others in the past. Very sturdy and well made product, the crop seems to have ample spring as well as a good handle with a grip that is sure not to slip. The end is just the right width as to not leave any real bruising or marking. the only reason i didn't give this crop 5 stars was because it is a bit shorter than your average riding crop. that being said with its shorter length it fits in my girlfriends purse so we don't have to wait till we get home to correct naughty behaviors, so that's a plus.

the dog: excellent product, firm and well built. Hand grip is firm, even if wearing gloves. Business end is a folder leather piece, firmly attached and has flexibility to ensure that strikes are not too hard. Shaft is well crafted with the right amount of flex on impact. Highly recommend for the quality and price
