BabeRighteous: We have a 10 pound dog and bought the 3" diameter ball. She loves it so much she prefers to eat her dinner by playing with the ball instead of eating it out of her bowl. However, after a month of the ball rolling under all of the furniture (sofas, end tables) and getting stuck, we ordered the 4" ball instead. It does not get stuck under furniture and the dog is just as happy.

Bryan: Upside: Fill it full of treats and crank the 'difficulty,' to the max they'll fit through and it'll keep a very high energy, very demanding German Shepherd busy for quite a while.
Downside: My dog has figured out that the trick is to pulverize the treats INSIDE the ball so they fall out of the hole easier. She's developed a snap like an NFL center. I just try to stay out of the way for fear of catching this toy at mach Jesus to any body part below the thigh. Got it 7/29/23 I'll try to remember to update this review when it breaks to give people an idea of longevity/durability.

Lisa: Our dog (Penny) and we love this food ball, we use these to feed her meals out of. We have a couple of similar ones Nina Ottosson and a wobble IQ toy.
To be fair, we love them all for different reasons, Nina ball is good for Penny after a long walk when she's a bit tired and treats come out quicker. Or perhaps a good toy for a dog who is new to the food dispenser toys.
The Wobble ball is good middle ground toy, but she does manage to knock the level adjuster with her paw and make easier for herself! Clever pooch, other times she makes it harder!
This toy I like that the adjuster is inside the toy, no accidental knocking. She gets a cup of kibble in the 4 inch ball most in the bottom compartment, the rest in the top. This acts as a good means of immediate reward and grabs her focus. And slowly builds up difficulty. For a dog who gets frustrated with the toy, you could take the middle plate out to encourage use.
Some people have reviewed lower it seems because their dog got bored or frustrated, perhaps it is too hard for them? Maybe use the technique I tried? Use multiple dispensers and set the appropriate difficulty level for your pup.

KatDionesKatDiones: It’s small enough for my 11-lbs shih tzu to carry with his mouth. Their small is a good size for this breed.
He growls and barks at it because he becomes impatient and frustrated if not enough kibble and treats come out (After a couple of weeks, I made it harder for him to get the food out of the adjustable hole inside the ball).
I bought it so he can be entertained while I work at home. This dispenser ball keeps him busy a bit longer compared to a puzzle (with small compartments) that was bought for him as well.
This is likely to have been made of hard plastic, and so the ball creates louder noises when my dog picks it up and drops it on our tile floor, or when the ball rolls on and on (I keep my headset on to listen to music, instead of hearing his toy-dispenser). I’m glad to have an area rug when he plays with this ball, but I can’t keep him from taking it all over the place. If you have carpet or a large area rug, noise shouldn’t be an issue.
Quality seems to be good. He picks the ball up and drops it on hard floor, but everything is still intact to my surprise. No cracks so far, but my dog gave it plenty of scratches (which is normal tear...

newyorker: I've purchased five different food dispensing toys. The 5-inch IQ Treat Ball, the Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball, Large, the StarMark Interactive toy, and the Premier Pet Busy Buddy Twist N Treat Dog Toy, Medium, and the Premier Pet Busy Buddy Twist N Treat Dog Toy, Large.
Please note that you cannot clean the insides of the StarMark or the Omega ball. Unless you want old gunk hanging around for months, these two toys will last ... very short. I kept each for only a couple of months before tossing them out. The only two I use to this day are the Premier Pet Buddy, Large, and the IQ Treat Ball.
Of all of these, each one has its benefits and shortcomings:
The Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball is the perfect material for my dog - he's not a huge chewer. It hits the wall and makes a gentle "thud" sound. However, with the new design, the hole that dispenses the food is much too large and dispenses a ton of his treats right from the getgo - this is not enough to keep my dog entertained for more than a few minutes! The Omega Ball fits the most food - I believe I can get up to a full cup of kibbles into it. Note that the only way to clean this toy is to put water in it and...

This is smaller than I would have guessed. It's hard to get a feel for sizes here but the 5" is a large handful. It has adjustable difficulty, and I use this product to feed my dogs their kibble. Otherwise they inhale their food and get sick.
One of our dogs is easily frustrated, and one is really good with these puzzle toys. For now I have taken the center panel out entirely, as we don't want it that difficult and it allows me to put more food inside. It can hold about 1 cup of food and still be easy enough to screw it back together. With the panel in it will be a bit less. At some point in the future I may put the panel that increases difficulty back in for the more clever pooch.
One of my dogs managed to pop the thing open, but he's only done it once, perhaps it was luck or I didn't screw it tight enough. No damage to the ball. On more than one occasion I've found it difficult to open myself, it's just an awkward size for my hands my husband does not have the same difficulty, the dog drool does have a glue like effect.
If you are looking for a device to slow your dogs eating, this helps. It also helps wear them out a bit...
