An: It’s a great book… I have read couple of chapters.. I can’t wait for weekend to come to continue reading remaining chapters….I have studied in chennai, Chennai has always given foundation to me to aim for bigger dreams and motivated me to set my own journey to US… When I was reading this book, I was remembering all these places once I visited… This book is a inspiration for any women who is aiming to make something bigger version of herself , something stronger version of herself and inspiration for those women who will sometimes lost / buried in their family matters ,sometimes find it challenging to define a equilibrium between regular house hold chores and demanding career…

Thanks for publishing such a great thoughts…

BHASKAR PANDIT: Indira is story of every middle class houhold in India. Perfect example of how discipline, hard work, clean habits of middle class in India are producing such brilliant minds who are contributing and serving in every nook and corner of the world. I can see my own story through her writings..I too could rise from a dusty small town, schooling in vernacular medium to leading teams in the conference rooms of the best corporations in Paris, Washington Moscow, St Petersburg, Mumbai, New Delhi, in immpacable english, on high technology transactions.
There is no substitute to hard work, good character and nurturing houshold.
Excellent book.
Must read for all.

Kai Lee: The book opens with the story that, in a gathering of US and Indian business executives in the White House in November 2009, the Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh and the President of the United States, Barack Obama, both claimed that Indra Nooyi, then CEO of PepsiCo, “… is one of us”. I doubt there is another autobiography that has a beginning as majestic as this.

Indra Nooyi, of course, is the author of “My Life in Full – Work, Family, and Our Future”. She was one of the persons profiled and interviewed in the book “How to Lead” by David Rubenstein which I read sometime ago. Rubenstein put her in the category of “Transformers”, which also included Tim Cook, Eric Schmidt, Melinder Gates and Ginni Rometty.

The book is organized under four parts. There is no index which makes it hard to look things up.
Part I, Growing Up, tells the story of her childhood in India. She grew up in a large house in Madras, built by her paternal grandfather. Her parents, older sister, younger brother, as well as her grandfather, all lived there. It was a big loving family. She went to Madras Christian College, graduated with a degree in Physics, Chemistry and...

Alok Kejriwal: An INCREDIBLE book that you must buy.

An astonishing story of absolute grit, perseverance and bone-chilling sacrifice. Books like these establish the fact that leaders are made, not born.

Highlights and Quotes:

- "We are investing in your education to help you stand on your own two feet," he said. "The rest is up to you. Be your own person." (Alok: JUST the advice we've given to our daughters :)

"Satan has work for idle hands." That never left me. Still, today I struggle not to be doing something useful all the time.

- I had landed in the US with $500. I was at Yale. I searched high and low in that Wawa for curds, but I couldn't find them. I didn't know that curds in India are called yogurt in the US.

- I developed my own research routines. For a company that made citrus processing machines, I crawled through juice plants in Brazil and Florida and learned the intricacies of squeezing oranges with different commercial machines. I hung out in a bar in Green Bay, Wisconsin, nursing a lemonade, to listen to competitors' factory workers talk about their troubles on their tissue lines, and then drew lessons for my clients. (Alok - Meaningful...

B. R. RamaprasadB. R. Ramaprasad: This is a truly remarkable book written in a simple manner.   What is so admirable is that Smt. Nooyi took the courage to share with the world her personal life for the benefit of everyone, especially women. She is candid and comes across to me as very honest and decent.  Her exemplary determination to succeed in her professional life in spite of many difficulties is a lesson for women and people of color who are career oriented.   This becomes even more complicated if they have special needs children.  Being an immigrant and a woman of color, the two profound barriers to career advancement, she understood that to prove herself she must focus on her brains and hard work.  That she did and is a role model for women and immigrants. The transformation that took place in her mother from “You may be the president or whatever of PepsiCo, but when you come home, you are a wife and a mother and a daughter.  Nobody can take your place. So you leave that crown in the garage” to “you are someone who wants to help the world and not many people are like you.  I don’t think you should worry about the house so much.  You have to give back as much...
