Increase Efficiency with ToteScan Intelligent QR Labels for Organizing and Storage

momof2boys: My belongings were in temporary storage while I waited to close on my new house after selling my previous one. Was great to be able to scan boxes as I moved them out of storage. I was able to see the description and a picture of what was inside. Made it much easier to decide what to take and what could wait for another trip.

LeftysruleLeftysrule: My mom has so many decorations and party supplies in storage boxes. I’ve watched her dig though 2-6 boxes looking for one item. I saw these and knew she had to have them! You have these QR labels that you can attach to any box or storage item, and then they connect to a scanner app on your phone. You can take pictures of the items, and then categorize them within the QR label on your box. It also has a searchable item piece, that makes it so that you can find what you’re looking for, without going through every box. We have just started doing it, and it is so nice! Especially, if you are like my mom, and have tons of storage boxes of items.

Galaxia K: I didn't think fully, in advance, before purchasing these.
I am not moving; my purpose was to acquire labels I could place on storage containers in closets and garage.
I have an advanced home inventory application that allows me to assign barcodes to items and/or containers. I wanted to put these labels on containers, and then assign inventory items to those containers. Then, when looking up an item, the app will tell me what container it is in and where it is located. Or conversely, I can scan a container and the app will tell me what is in it.
I needed labels with a code, but also a visible number. This way if you are looking for a specific container, you can visually see when you have found it (I don't read 'QR' or 'barcode' :-)
My app scans in the label and gives me the option of naming the container. It can use the same name as the scan code, or I can overwrite and manually enter a name. But I want the name from the label, as that is what my eyes will see in the app, and then on the container, once I can locate it. But because these are QR codes, **the code and name a URL**. BezosBennefactor: This was a great tool for a recent international move that is still in progress. We started packing 6 months ago and now that our stuff made the move from the US to Mexico most of it will stay in storage for a year. Being able to scan to know the contents of a box that's in a stack is really valuable.

Having said that I would have like the option to buy the labels in pairs, ie each QR has a second identical label. Then you could put the QR on both the long side and short side of the box. You may find after the fact that you put them on the long side of the box and the most efficient storage was to have the short side facing out on a shelf or stack. Yes you can copy the QR's and attach to the box but when you have a couple hundred boxes that adds a lot of time and hassle.

Another plus would be to have a feature on the app that allows you to essentially "receive" the box/tub and not delete it or the contents off the box. I realize there is a similar function but it seems to require a second separate user of the app do so under their own sign-in or what ever you might call it. When I have movers bring in 200 boxes/items it would be nice to "receive" as having made the...
