BHDBHD: I have three indoor houseplants that need beween them about 1 1/2 cups of water weekly. This is the perfect size. It pwerfectly hold 12 to 15 ounces and once I fill it up I can water all three plants and let it dry out until the next week. It is the exact amount of water I need for my indoor plants.

gnfo: I bought the 1000ml watering can and originally thought the wrong size was sent because it looked so small. As it turns out, it is TECHNICALLY 1000ml in that if you fill it up to overflowing it will hold exactly that amount. However, you absolutely can't use it filled up with 1000ml since the water will pour out of both the spout and the opening at the top if you have it too full. So usable capacity is more like 750ml. That being said, the metal seems sturdy and it looks nice. I would guess that the 500ml can is only good for about 375ml.
