Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: I have 4 of these now. Its great when they work, but, they do crack. Even with following the guidelines to the amount of water placed in. This issue winds up being how fast the water turns to ice, and if there is any ice still in the product when you 're-freeze' as the ice floats to the top inside and when it re-freezes it expands if there is water around it. That being said, I found a solution, not elegant, but works for all the ones that have cracked. Just take a quart ziplock bag and line the inside of the outer shell. Fill the bag with the 'right amount' of water and insert back the center column. Allow the ziplock back to overlap the outside threads and screw on the top. Even though the outside shell is cracked, the ziplock back keeps everything in tact. Not sure why they dont sell a 'liner' (unless I missed it), but this saves a lot of time and $$

K Williams: I am very happy with my HyperChiller. I use it to cool down my tea so I can have a glass of iced tea shortly after making my tea. I had read other reviews and the directions so I make sure I do not over-tighten so I don't crack the plastic. I have not had any issues so far. Love that within a couple minutes my tea is cool and i can pour over ice and have a refreshing glass of iced tea. So my cheaper than buying pre-made tea and tastes so much better.

Bradley Jolly: The item works as intended at first, with my coffee chilling to under room temperature and being enjoyable - even without pouring it over ice (but that of course would help). For the intended purpose it works wonderfully.

However, despite following the proper instructions of filling the water up and not going over any of the recommended max lines, after just a single use the exterior of the unit has a massive crack - rendering it inoperable and needing replacement.

I'll be replacing mine even though I'm eligible for a return because I very much enjoy how it works. It just needs to work for longer than a single day. I would love to see if there's further care instructions to prevent this - bar the picture on the product showing filling instructions (which I followed anyway).

5 for performance, but 2 for durability therefore, giving it a 3.

RichG: 1) if you can’t wait about five minutes for an ice cold cup of coffee WITHOUT ADDING ICE don’t get this.
2) only holds 12 1/2 ounces. But 4$
3) it has more parts then I thought it was going to but they’re not really a big pain. But it has you know a few parts four of them that you’ve got to maintain and make sure you don’t lose but they really don’t need to be put into a dishwasher you just wash them off and you put them back together again and you keep putting it into the freezer after you use it you dump it out you wash it out fill it up again put it in the freezer. But it has more parts and I was expecting a lot more. I was expecting it to have just one container and that’s it but it’s nothing like that
depending on how hot the coffee is you put into it you can get 2 usages but again you’re going to wait between five and 10 minutes for the second one as well. So if you’re in a hurry and you want 24 ounces of coffee this is not what you get. This was not exactly what I was expecting when I got this. Danny: Definitely the greatest "Why didn't I think of this?" invention ever. I use it for coffee from a coffee machine as it is already lacking in flavor. Putting it on ice makes it worse. With the HyperChiller, I can get cold coffee without watering it down with ice. It deserves five stars as it does a great job and is something I use almost every day. I also want to make sure the word gets out with positive reviews. There are a few cons which I hope they fix for V3. I will buy right away.

1. Price. Was this a Shark Tank product where you sign your life away for a few peanuts? Based on the quality of the aluminum inside and complaints about cracked plastic, the HyperChiller should not be more than $10. Even with the 70% overhead needed to be on Amazon, cost before freight and tariffs should not be more than a dollar from a good manufacturer in China. That being said, you gotta love capitalism.

2. This can and should be Made in the USA. Unless most of the profit margin is going to paying off the Sharks, this product can be easily made stateside. It would provide safety and peace of mind as it does come in contact with something you ingest.
