Janelle Tidd: They have scales and arpeggios and excellent fingering notations. It's a classic for a reason and my violin playing has been improving as I started to make my way through this book. It is excellent for memorizing fingerings in 2nd and 3rd position. Good purchase I would reccomend!

Jie-Jie: If ABRSM scale exambook did not exist, this is the scale book that I would use for intelligent preparation of scales. But the pressure for young violinist's (parents) needing fast exam results asap for chasing bursaries, scholarships and coveted school places etc. means that it's a constant slog through endless exam syllabus, with no time to work through this excellent scale preparation book....highly recommend if under no pressure to drag your students through the perennial exam hysteria.
