DanaDana: I used this as a face mask to get all those good nutrients into my skin.

The two pictures are two different tries. The first darker mask had added ingredients (see recipe below) and the picture was taken after it dried. The second lighter, thinner mask was just mixed with water. This recipe never solidified.

It smells like seaweed obviously, which I don’t find unpleasant! Pretend you’re at the beach :) My favorite recipe is mix with water, a few drops of your favorite oil, and a dry clay (bentonite or kaolin). Aim for consistency of yogurt. Whisking will prevent clumps but I just go with it clumps and all. For a thinner mask, just add water and apply.

Both recipes work. I prefer the first as it’s less drippy, but I saw similar benefits with both. Leaves my face feeling supple and rejuvenated. Noticed a slight decrease in redness after using, which fits with the purported anti-inflammatory properties of the crazy expensive pre-made seaweed masks you can buy or get at the esthetician’s office.

If you are a skin care junkie, do consider adding this to your rotation.

Husky girl: I have used one package and ordered another. I use it for GERD (acid reflux). I use it three or four times a week just before bedtime. I mix a teaspoon or so of kelp powder and mix it using a milk frother (think cappucino). It WORKS. Tastes a bit like low tide smells, but I got used to it. It seems to be a fairly effective non-chemical solution to my reflux. I try not to use too much of it, because it has a fair bit of iodine and I don't want to get too much.

Kevin Carlson: I was expecting a “seaweed soup” flavor, but it wasn’t that bad.
You will want to use something like a blender or battery-operated whisk for mixing into liquids.
Note that it will thicken liquids somewhat, so you may want to add water to thin it a bit.
You may want to add some honey to make it a bit more palatable
