I work at a small business and this is the fifth desk we've gotten because we've only recently started getting these for our employees. We plan to continue buying this brand as needed. It's the perfect size (Almost! Read on for details), it raises/lowers as expected/intended, there is no assembly required, and it stays put once placed.
The base on this desk doesn't slide around on top of the surface it resides on which is excellent! This is exactly the right size for two monitors, and they sway a minuscule amount when we raise/lower the desk. The keyboard and mouse also sit on the desk. There isn't enough room for a desk phone without it being in the way of a monitor. When the person is sitting this is not an issue. When they stand up, they have to move the phone. I think an option for a swivel shelf with a lock-in-place mechanism would be wonderful with the added option to put it on either side of the desk depending on which side of your desk you want the phone. This may also provide useful for a mouse area as well if someone didn't want to use the desk with a phone. Though, an adjustment would need to be made to make the shelf even with the top of the...

RGRG: This was my first time to use a convertible sitting to standing desk and have had one full day with it in the office. I read a lot of reviews before selecting this product as it was consistently given good reviews. I'm not at all disappointed! I was surprised by the size of the desk top. It has room for my laptop plus another monitor if I chose to use one. Since I don't use another screen it holds my Bible (I'm a Pastor), planner, phone, mouse and a small wireless keyboard I bought to use while standing. The mechanism to raise or lower the unit is easy to maneuver and you can convert between standing or sitting in a jiffy. I would encourage would be buyers to pay close attention to the given measurements because this thing takes up a lot of real estate on your desk. Thankfully I have a large executive L-shape desk so I happen to have plenty of room for this plus all the other stuff on my desk. It may take a little while to get in a groove to stand for long periods of time and I can already tell I should of ordered an anti-fatigue mat to stand on with it because we have hardwood floors and no carpet in our office. I would suggest getting a wireless keyboard...

Barry Seymour:
"Sitting is the new smoking." Ain't THAT the truth. After 35 years of sit-down work I have some serious back problems. I determined a sit-stand desk would be necessary to improve my health. That said, I'm VERY picky about my home workstation setup. I have a number of other ergonomic changes I've made and I MUST keep them.
This desk converter is perfect. It's large enough to hold a large monitor, my old-school wide Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard and still have room for a wireless mouse (Evoluent, also ergonomic) my glasses and a cup of tea. It raises and lowers easily - just grasp a handle on the left and pull up or push down. The surface is a smooth glossy black, yet my mouse works with it just fine, no need for a mouse pad.
The frame that supports it has soft rubber padding on the bottom, so I feel safe putting it on my dining room table (I work at home) and moving it if needed. When extended it's solid and feels safe.
The only possible downside is this thing is a bit heavy. If you leave it in place, no problem, but I have to set up and break down every day (dining room table). But other than that I highly recommend it.

Sean DiMaria: This Defy Stand Up Desk was exactly what I hoped for when I began searching for an affordable and durable option to either stand up or sit down while working at my desk. It was easy to set up and was ready to use right out of the box, no assembly needed. I have a 23 inch monitor and a Fellowes Tilt-n-Slide Keyboard Manager (8060101) attached to it to give my keyboard and mouse (and me) more distance from my monitor while standing or sitting. The Fellowes keyboard manager attaches to the Defy Stand Up Desk perfectly and works well even when the Defy Stand Up Desk is at its lowest setting. I chose this type of stand up desk because it is one level and is more like an actual desktop verses the desktop stands with separate levels for the monitor and keyboard. With everything I have on the Defy Stand Up Desk, it goes up and down with little effort and it securely stays in place. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the quality and affordability of this Defy Stand Up Desk.
