Joel Feder: This was easy to assemble and install. Certainly made it simpler to put my window A/C unit in place. It's very sturdy. And now I no longer fear having the heavy piece of equipment falling multiple stories onto whatever might be below or having it put excessive stain on the window itself.

PC1*: Sturdy and easy to assemble, but unfortunately, but didn't fit our window sill because the sill had a 'lip'. If not for that, I think it would have worked well to hold air-con. unit.because

Will: Stabilizes my heavy window Air Conditioner and required no drilling. The space between the frame could be too wide for some units - I just put a metal piece across to prevent A/C falling through. Otherwise works well for me and takes weight off window.

For my Money: I purchased this for a 46" window. The assembly and placement was fine, but its not a universal bracket as advertised.Because my window is so wide, no one makes a bracket for my window. I decided on this one because I could see that if I needed to I could make a modification with little trouble. I added steel brackets to the ends of the bracket that goes to the inside, bottom of the window, but in hindsight the modification was not necessary. I had been using portable A/C 's because of the window size, but the A/C 's are more expensive and do not last like a window AC. I purchased a GE window A/C unknow to me it had brackets on the bottom of the A/C that were designed to fit the side curtains of the A/C. These brackets made it hard to rest the A/C on the Support bracket. This bracket may be called a universal baracket, but It will only work correctly for A/C 's that have a flat bottom. After some time I was able to set the A/C on the bracket , but because the A/C was not flat, I had to offset the unit. After all the hard work adjusting this A/C, I determined I did not need the support bracket at all, but will use it anyway for safety reasons, as there is enough room to walk under...

Amazon Customer: Comparing to other AC support we bought (which are not cheap either), this is very (unbelievably) easy to put together and adjust to the level needed. The groove designed fits our new Danby AC's feet perfectly.

Would have given a 5 star if those welding points are smoother--these rough dents make it look cheap, even though may not impact its function.

Justin: I bought this for my ancient 80lb behemoth AC unit which has been precariously dangling out of my apartment window for years without any support. The stand went together super quick - in fact, I had to double check myself twice to make sure it really was that straightforward.

It took a lot of back-and-forth to get the right angle for the AC (tilted ever so slightly back toward the outside, to prevent drips indoors). The bracket is super sturdy and supports the weight of my AC without issue. A nice bonus is that the bracket decouples the AC from the window frame itself, which cuts down on resonance and noise when it’s in use. Thank god!!

This thing is expensive to be sure, but totally worth it. I would recommend to anybody on the fence about this to just buy it for peace of mind, if nothing else.

MisterMr: It's really not a good support for my air conditionner (which is way below the max weight support). I think the recommended weight might be for when you use it for the smallest setting of window frame size.

For my window, I had to push it's limit, but I am not even at the max width possible and my air conditionner way a lot less than the recommanded max weight and even then the center of the support was beginning to bend outward (which made me pause the installation so I could build another support).

Even with the two supports working together, it kinda wants to get out of my window as the level "while installing" and the level "after installing" changed which makes me wish it holds up for the summer at least after which I will have to find another way to support my air conditionner for next summer.

I would recommand it for smaller windows or really small air conditionner, but keep in mind that you might want to be sure before buying.

debra wilsondebra wilson: This device is strong, well designed and super easy to install IF you have the right kind of windows. Which i did not... Fortunately my ac unit sits in a first floor window (in the back yard and surrounded by fencing) so i was able to make a work around and still use the bracket. I REALLY wanted a bracket that did not require drilling holes in the window frame because i just installed new windows and DID NOT want to put ANY holes in the frames!!!
Because my windows were not what this bracket was designed to work with i ran into two problems. Getting the ac unit to sit flush with the window and getting the bracket to brace against the outside wall.
You can see from the pix I included how i managed to do that but here's the detail if you're interested:
The website specs say you need a minimum of 6" from inside wall to outside wall, which I do, BUT, they don't mention (until you buy it and read the instructions that come with the bracket...) that the measurement HAS to actually be from the inside frame of the window (not the inside wall) to the outside wall of the house. They presume a sill on the outside of the house not on the inside. My windows have an inside sill and not...
