Becky: Such a good read, very eye opening if you are kinda anxious about heaven and the transition from here to the after life! I was so encouraged reading it and it has so many questions and answers in the book like will our pets be with us etc.

Amazon Customer: First of all the book arrived with some damage - probably due to not being packaged properly. It seemed to me that this had actually been read by someone judging by the slight staining on the page edges. On the whole very, very disappointed. It has so many speculations in it and he seems almost obsessed with wanting to force so many issues into a renovated physical Earth. For example he speculates that we will know our wives/husbands in heaven and continue our relationship with them and has Adam and Eve holding hands in Heaven His Bible reasoning is imo rather sparse. He is not all wrong or speculative but if you want a serious Bible based book about Heaven then I wouldn't buy this.

Marcus: While we were still helpless [powerless to provide for our salvation], at the right time Christ died [as a substitute] for the ungodly. Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to willingly give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a good man [one who is noble and selfless and worthy] someone might even dare to die. But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Therefore, since we have now been justified [declared free of the guilt of sin] by His blood, [how much more certain is it that] we will be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more certain, having been reconciled, that we will be saved [from the consequences of sin] by His life [that is, we will be saved because Christ lives today]. Not only that, but we also rejoice in God [rejoicing in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received and enjoy our reconciliation [with God] (Romans 5:6-11, AMP).

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all...

Jon Mason: Randy Alcorn really covers just about every question you could conceivably ask about Heaven, and answers them thoroughly from the Bible. That doesn't make this a really heavy read though. He writes in a bright, engaging way, and you're sure to be excited as you read it!

Don't be put off by the size. It's over 500 pages, but it's in short chapters, and is very easy to read. It's one of those books that you can dip into now and again when you want to be inspired, or to find out about something.

One thing I really like about this book is that it's also quite imaginative. Now don't get me wrong ion this one: It's not just that Alcorn is making it up as he goes along. He's very clear when he's interpolating from what the Bible says. But his imagination is very much seen through the lens of sound Bible exposition, and that makes it very exciting indeed. The next time you hear someone say, "We can't begin to imagine what Heaven will be like," you'll be able to tell them, "I can!"

I have been deeply inspired by this book, and warmly recommend it to anyone who wants to look a bit deeper.

Reader456: I would highly recommend this book, this book is essential for all who are searching for answers, what is heaven like now? and what will it be like in the future? it has revealed to me that heaven is a real place and all those who are saved by Jesus Christ Lord of Lord and King of Kings and Him only, live there with the whole family of believers who have a real physical body in a real physical place and that where heaven is now will ultimately relocate to this earth which God will regenerate and refurbish with lush plants and trees even better that the original garden of Eden and God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ live together with the whole family of believers, some will live inside the new Jerusalem City and some will live in the country but all are free to go into the city and be with Christ any time night of day as the gates to the city are never closed but always open. This book shows that heaven is an exciting place and no one will ever be bored people explore and go on and on learning more and more about the abundant life and all have a share and inheritance in Jesus Christs Kingdom and have dominion with Him over all of creation including the whole universe and all...

Greg Pickle: Randy Alcorn is a writer whose work on the subject of heaven is certainly extensive. The founder of Eternal Perspective Ministries, he has spent significant effort to point Christians toward the reality and important of eternity in such nonfiction books as In Light of Eternity and Money, Possessions, and Eternity as well as novels such as Safely Home and Edge of Eternity. The simple title of this book and its considerable length seems suggest it is meant to be a his magnum opus on the subject.

The book is divided into three parts: "A Theology of Heaven" (5-228), "Questions and Answers about Heaven" (229-436), and "Living in Light of Heaven" (437-458). The author himself exhorts the reader not to skip the first section to get to the later ones, because the first section is foundational to everything else, and this certainly is the case; Alcorn's theology of heaven determines much of what he says in his question and answer section. Therefore, this review will be primarily concerned with what is said in Part I.

His theology is largely very good and is largely exegetical. The "Theology of Heaven" section would be immensely helpful in many ways to a new believer or to one...
