J-R: Excellent Bible commentary. John MacArthur is insightful, knowledgeable, and helps with understanding parts of the Bible. I like the summaries and the overviews of the chapters. It helps me to understand the Scriptures and look at the verses critically. I am so thankful that I purchased this commentary. I think it would make an excellent gift to a friend as well.

David D: This commentary makes a good addition to my library, but I can't rely on it as a primary reference. It seems to have some very good information regarding certain Biblical scriptures but it is very limited (or non-existent) for other scriptures. I like John MacArthur and agree with him in most things, so my criticism is not with his viewpoints. I just wish this commentary were more detailed. A commentary that is very similar in its theology but has much more comprehensive explanation is The Believer's Bible Commentary by William MacDonald, Thomas Nelson Publishers. Together, they are a great combination!

Kathy: John Macarthur did an excellent job to anyone who reads the Bible and would like a clear explanation. Salvation from this world of sin is shown step by step .Living a life after accepting Jesus as your Saviour is sometimes difficult, but simply put your eyes on His ways and you are learning.
This commentary gives clear understanding.
